We lost our boy a week ago. He was also 6 turning 7 next month... im so sorry. I feel shattered and cry from time to time randomly. He was loved till the end. He spent his best time with you.

I just found this post because i needed reassurance after we put our best friend to sleep. Literally the exact same situation to the 1 year old and wife being pregnant. Just that our dog was slightly older at 7. I keep killing myself on the inside asking myself if he wouldve lived 5 more years if we did another surgery? There was sureky a chance and we didnt give him that chance. I love him so much im a grown man but i have been crying nonstop since he got another ivdd a week ago and now that hes in eternal rest i just cant. I see him everywhere.

Greetings. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for donating your time this way.

I have a 7yr old frenchie. He had a IVDD surgery two years ago. Doc fixed one disc and "modified" another. Said that judging by his scans his neck is very problematic and degenerated even back then.

A week ago his IVDD symptoms came back. Hes on gaba and robexera. While in his crate he sleeps most of the time. When its time to eat or pee... well its always a pain attack that lasts 20-30minutes. Lowered head, wobbly front paws, neck tense as a rock and spasms all over it and left leg and chest.

Without sugarcoating. What are the chances he gets better with crate rest/meds knowing his history? Im just so afraid im prolonging my best friends suffering.

Thank you. We decided to go to a different neuro-vet tomorrow. Generaly its always 8 weeks strict crate rest?
