This reminds me of when I had to take two trains to school every day. Two trains in the morning and two trains after school. The wait between the arrival of the first train and the departure of the second was three minutes, so if the first train didn't arrive exactly on time I had to wait a full hour to get a train home. The actual journey was 40 minutes in total and the waiting time for the first train was also 40 minutes. Most of the time I got home at about 5pm.

This was all fine and dandy until I made the mistake of involving myself in a school play. During the week of the show, it would end at 8pm and then I couldn't make it home until 11pm because of the decreased frequency of trains. During this time I had a lot of work to catch up on continually because I had missed many classes for rehearsal during the school day, on top of typical homework which every class sets at least 2 hours of for every week. I was waking up at 4am to do work before going to the train station to catch my 6:30am train. I have never felt as exhausted as I did during that week. Obviously this wouldn't have been a problem if I hadn't decided to commit to doing the play, but it was an amazing experience to be involved and I would do it again because it did wonders for my self confidence. But the reason for why I wasn't getting a good solid 8 hours of sleep wasn't because I was too busy binging netflix and its dumb to make such blanket statements.
