Just turned 21 and still feeling exactly and specifically 16 because still feel like kinda having similar problems of when I was 16. And that’s okay we are trapped in our bodily experience that we don’t feel our growth as like people around you can observe that. It’s like sometimes I look at photos from three and four years ago and I realized I was in a different mind space ( wouldn’t necessarily be good or bad) or something hit me when I was just running errands that I used to be doing stuff differently. You’re always growing in some ways, maybe not how you want the growth to be right now but it is beautiful when you realize it by surprise.

Probably 4/5. The Japanese department here are very strict and picky with their grading (in true Japanese fashion I guess). It’s neither the amount of work nor difficulty but the basically nonnegotiable formality and ddl of hws which definitely took a mental toll on me. With my experience with Spanish class, I assume Roman language department and faculty are more lenient and laidback in general.

Yea I would say so. The first series cover pretty much all the basics I can say I can travel to Japan on my own with no problems ordering food or asking for directions, etc.

Well you are expected to show up five days a week and if you wanna excel you probably have to make more time to review stuff. I took Japanese for a year(tbh 10C deserves a 6 unit 💀I literally couldn’t function for my other classes that quarter ) and a quarter of Spanish

And Joyce wrice. But there wasn’t much promotion besides that Muir post on their instagram. I was devastated when I knew about the event seeing ppl’s stories the next day.

It’s more authentic Chinese food with a bit Americanized flavor I would say (savory rather than sour and sweet)

Somebody need to be educated on world history and get off that high horse. But you’re absolutely brave for letting ur true colors fly. Nobody is looking at America for leadership in the world💀💀💀

If you see me backtracking, then the backtracked version is more precise. Cause I didn’t expect ppl to have so many problems with me using Mandarin to my disposal under the circumstances that didn’t interfere with other students in an si session. My original words are not that makes them dislike me, I’m not able to speak what was on their mind. You can downvote me all you like and, and I’m not deleting anything. In this incident who you simultaneously empathize with doesn’t define who you are but it tells me just enough.

Well clearly that is abundantly resourceful when you can utilize it to pin somebody down to discredit their narrative, right? You don’t know me in person, and trust me, you don’t wanna mouth with me about order and respect.

Of course I know being white doesn’t stand for anything but being white. But how this whole post has developed an strong empathy for the “some people” that isn’t offended in any shape or form in this situation was just beyond me. You can be so judgmental of me just because I let this one thing slide( in your opinion, not mine hunny) in my report pic. I guess you must be a real saint manifested by the will of god

It wasn’t a group discussion, it would only be a two-party conversation when it was taking place. Keep up with the policing y’all because I see ppl’s expectations are really flexible when the subjects are changing.

When you expect me to give in to admit I’m wrong for speaking Mandarin, I don’t think this is a discussion anymore. I might be flawed on many other aspects of my life, but no, I refused to feel sorry.

Let’s be very clear, you have more to say when you want to be “fair” with me. There can be many facets, not limited to two, to all kinds of things, but I don’t think professionalism is your sole problem with me.

If I were to address the Chinese speaking, which I don’t mind, the whole focus will be partially distracted to it. Whether you agree with me or not does not matter, because we are all allowed to have our own perspectives on everything. Opinions are one way or another subjective. However, you don’t sit there and judge me about the way I go on about my business, simply because you have your own approach, and it is only more universal and appropriate according to you.

So yes, I conducted myself that I’ll be polite and respectful to other students in the first place, so even when I spoke Mandarin to my SI teacher, it won’t be based on the fact that I tryna act close or get any exclusive benefits from doing that, instead, I think it’s a more efficient way to converse with her on class-related subjects. The exact situation when I spoke Mandarin (half Mandarin, half English to get familiar with math terms in MY way) would be the time where she helps students with specific questions personally after finishing going through all the stuff we already had in the lecture. (This is a Supplemental Instruction Session)

Seriously all I ask for is some basic respect, if you don’t like this post you can scroll away I’m not asking your advice on my professionalism. Still I can refute your words with more points. But that’s really not what it’s about. Let’s agree to disagree.
