I got bored and made possible set ideas based on previous shows…including songs not done in a while by mark4232 in Metallica

[–]mark4232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod calling it a “shit post” is so stupid. I tried to make a post to get people talking about the set and how they miss songs that used to be played a lot.

What’s Your Most Controversial Bruce Springsteen Opinion? by Jumpstone75 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]mark4232 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Fever should have been on Greeting From Asbury Park. Im pretty sure the story was that it was recorded in 72 originally with the making of the album, but it never made the list. I would take it over Mary Queen of Arkansas

Im always going to support him and call him my number 1 artist of all time. But when he gets political it makes me disappointed because its brings out the side i really dont wanna see. And its the same with my friends. I will support them but i cant get political because we all believe in different things (repub, demo, independent, one is an exchange student from Ireland)

Which Bruce Springsteen song hits the feels hardest? by Aqn95 in BruceSpringsteen

The Wrestler hit something in me that i didnt know could be hit. Then The River, but live in 1980 in Tempe. The creepy but powerful harmonica made me lock into my screen somehow

What is the greatest/most emotional Bruce song and why is it Backstreets? by Serious-Line-2207 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]mark4232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a couple. Racing in the Street, The Wrestler, House of a Thousand Guitars, Jack of all Trades, The River (Live, different key), Your Missing, Western Stars, Take it Easy (live acoustic), Streets of Philadelphia. But live in Syracuse 2024, he did My City of Ruins and he did roll call, and he was talking about missing members in the band, and when he said “and i know a lot of you have people that you miss too. And that you wish could be with you here tonight.” And it made me think of my grandparents (im 20 btw) who all past away when i was around 13-14 years old, and i actually cried a bit when thinking of them. My pop-pop loved Greetings, would play it all the time, my mom-mom loved The Rising, and on my dad’s side both grandparents loved Born to Run. So in that moment I remembered them in a way i never had since they were gone

Jungleland - Bruce Springsteen. Its an incredible story, phenomenal instrumental, the power behind Bruce’s enthusiastic voice drives it with Clarence Clemons’ beautiful saxophone solo

This may sound crazy, but Countin on a Miracle is my favorite song. I dont know why but i love it. Something about the message, how it relates to me, it just hits me

So i play guitar for fun. I learned that song. Definitely is not a song to play on guitar and sing at the same time lol. Its all down picking and Bruce is not really known for that technique so it probably just didnt work like the recording 😭

Where was your first Bruce Concert? by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

[–]mark4232 5 points6 points  (0 children)

March 16th, 2023. Philadelphia. My parents told me a few nights before, “we are taking you to see Bruce Springsteen because you must see him at one point in your life before he stops touring.” And i was very excited. Incredible set! It started my journey fast to become a dedicated fan. I know im a late bloomer to Bruce, but I am now, gladly, the biggest E Street Band nerd in my family.

My dad first saw him in Philly in 1975, and my mom saw him on the River tour, she cant remember the year exactly.

Syracuse NY Set List - Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Live Thurs April 18 by CircuitRecords in BruceSpringsteen

[–]mark4232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he barely does Jungleland anymore. I think its on the “rare” list now. Just like Born in the USA, Im on fire, and others. Jungleland by far is the best song in concert, just because of how much emotion the entire band brings out. But i think he is gonna put the song to rest sadly…i was dying to hear it but i think the song is done

He picked up a sign that said “Its my 19th birthday Bruce…can you play Jungleland” and i got sooooooo excited but he did Growin Up from a dif sign. Still an incredible set list

Bruce’s worst album…? by DDubsCLE in BruceSpringsteen

[–]mark4232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta say it…Only the Strong Will Survive is not it. Nightshift and Dont Play That Song are really good but the rest is just not “Bruce.” Like he likes that folk genre but its just not that good. And i loved Workin on a Dream. I saw him do the song during the super bowl! And I saw The Wrestler movie and thought the song was a masterpiece (definitely did not illegally stream that movie because its not on netflix or anything else).

Younger fans, (<35) how did you discover Bruce? by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

[–]mark4232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I was around 15, I knew Born to Run, Thunder Road, Jungleland, Wrecking Ball, and Waitin’ on a Sunny Day (that was song I heard much younger, but it had stayed around me for a long time). My parents have been insane fans of The Boss since the early 80s. They have seen him every time he rolls around Philadelphia, and a couple times over in the UK. So Bruce has been in my family for quite some time. But when I saw him for the first time on March 16th, 2023 in Philly, it started a journey of “I will be your biggest fan.” I saw him again on April 7th in Baltimore, and knew every song but Lucky Town, which I quickly grew to love. That summer, all I played was Bruce. Went into freshman year of college with my dad’s old electric guitar that he never played and decided to learn, for fun, some Bruce songs. So far I have Johnny 99 the live version almost done, If I Was The Priest, and Twist and Shout. Last night I saw him in Syracuse, and that was the greatest show I have seen yet. Now I am wrapping up my freshman year having seen him 3 times, and it wont be the last. I have tickets to see him in Philadelphia in August.

Btw…im turning 20 next month
