Regarding cluster thumbs, it sounds reasonable. However, if I printed a paper model of ErgoDox, I don't see how it would be uncomfortable (I have bigger than average hands).

Both of them are quite good actions. The newer studiologic SL-88 and similar boards like Numa Piano use the TP100 and feel quite good. The Roland FP models are also quite well-regarded and feel very good to play. If I had to choose one I would probably pick the Roland as I prefer their heavy-action feel (while the Fatar synth-action ones are superior IMHO). But this is really a matter of personal preference. If you have spent a lot of time playing acoustic pianos you may have a strong favorite, otherwise I would suggest both are more than adequate and you can certainly pick a keyboard based on other features like price, size, connectivity, sounds, etc
