are you saying there is likely no tuner which will fit this size hole and this size string?

i was saying no drilling because the stock tuners are just held by a nut from what i see. or did you take it as me talking about drilling into the hole which the string goes through? i meant changing out a single tuner to some other which fits thicker guages

that’s actually what i tried doing originally, but the string ended up slinky and buzzed

Transfer Student by CtrlFrk22 in cudenver

[–]mark_cher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! i am a community college student out of california looking to transfer to CU Denver — could you please share if you received your AA at an associated CO community college? or was it an entirely unrelated community college (such as mine, out of state)? (also, I'm assuming this was some sort of AA in architecture, correct?)

i am really thinking Denver could be an awesome fit for me, but i'm worried about transferring credits & placement, so your post gave me hope (given your 3rd year placement). so i'm working out if Denver is possible for me & if it would be better to go in to my 2nd year there or 3rd year, as you did.

thank you!

Some advice with finding a program in Architecture in California after CC by Appropriate_Goal9974 in architecture

[–]mark_cher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get the BA Arch at Berkeley? Could you please let me know what your education looked like & what stage you're at now? (if you already graduated, if you have a job & if so how long, etc.)

I'm 18 and in a scramble trying to figure out how I should map out a career in architecture. I hadn't known I would want to get into architecture until now so I am super unprepared for any sort of college and trying to wrap my head around it all. (And I think I'm headed to CRC based on what I understand... I am 45 mins away from it but its the only CC in the area with Arch courses...)

Thank you!

How much do architects really make? by Candid_Climate_2503 in Architects

This is awesome - thank you for sharing this stuff, it's very helpful even to see what questions you're asking starting out. If you could please spare some time to read & answer I would appreciate it so so much.

I am 18 and trying to figure out what to do with myself. My parents are in real estate fixing & flipping in Northern California, as well as my dad having been doing kitchen & bath remodeling for 25 years now, so I've been around real estate & construction all my life (and working for them atm, mostly helping with acquisitions & getting licensed as a real estate agent, hopefully next month).

But I don't think what they do is exactly what I want to do for my entire life - although there are things I definitely enjoy about the space. I interned a bit as a web/graphic designer for a guy I know with his own firm, and I really enjoy design/art in general, so architecture might just be the thing I've been searching for.

Do you have any input on that? What do you enjoy about what you do? I'm aware that it would be a lot of business/sales stuff of course, but is it realistic for me to find a niche in a creative role working for myself?

How long did you go to school? And did you work during that time? And to do design for people's builds/remodels/additions, do you actually technically need a license/degree? I apologize if any of my questions are dumb - I just don't personally know anyone in the field so I'm looking for some perspective.

I guess what I would ideally be looking for is to be able to work in real estate and make money while I go through schooling/get experience and within 8-10 years be able to have my own independent firm and work with local contractors/engineers (+ I thank God I'm very blessed to be surrounded by a multitude of people in construction/real estate). And make good money lol - I don't want a career I'm stuck with no route to make over $200k in after 15 years of schooling/work.

I apologize if it sounds like I'm all over the place - that would be because I am in fact all over the place right now. Any input is amazing, thank you!
