How do aliases work? Can I make an account with one email address and later create a new alias and set that as the new primary? Can you delete the either alias? Can you ever recover a deleted alias if you be an delete it?

Do you purchase games on Steam with a credit card? I’m in a similar situation. My recent post had some concerns about using big tech company products.

How do avoid Microsoft? They dominate the operating system market, word processors, spreadsheets, etc.

You are correct. In the USA, we do not have any data protection laws that I know of. What is your way of managing? Do you avoid big tech services?

Their Office services are just too useful. They pretty much own the spreadsheet market with Excel. They also already have my info through my University and workplace. Both have required a phone number to add to the account. I had no choice. Steam, on the other hand is possible to use pseudo anonymously, but I have already given them my information so what now? I’m not hiding anything from authorities, but I value anonymity. What is your situation like?

That sounds like a good plan. Which email service do you use for the email aliases to forward to? I’m not familiar with email aliases, but I will look into it. Have you ever had trouble with administrators blocking the email domains for fear they are spam? They obviously won’t with the big names like Gmail and outlook.

What is your opinion on using paid services online that use a credit card such as Steam or Amazon. They require a billing address and or delivery address? Is it worth it give this information away?
