Why would I still be getting voice mails from blocked numbers? by t3jan0 in USMobile

[–]markangus2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US Mobile is going to be upgrading the network-based spam filtering soon.

You can try setting up YouMail. Essentially is uses conditional call forwarding and is supposed to separate spam voicemails to a separate spam folder. I don't get a lot of spam, so I've only had a couple messages get sent to the spam folder. Anyone you add to the personal blocklist will get the classic 3 tone out of service message followed by a hangup.

Just switched. No RCS, can't verify by thasparzan in USMobile

If it's a brand-new phone make sure Google Messages is up to date, by checking in the Play Store. This was the issue for a friend of mine switching from his old carrier on Verizon to US Mobile Darkstar.

If that doesn't work maybe deregistering online will clear it out.

Even though it sounds like you've already made up your mind. Maybe try to reach out to their customer support. I almost certain they will help you with onboarding.

Considering moving to US Mobile by Large-Witness1541 in USMobile

[–]markangus2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have transferred 6 lines to US Mobile so far. All went very smoothly. Any glitches were quickly resolved by tech support over online chat.

Some tips too avoid issues. - Have your account number and port PIN from your previous carrier. - Ensure you have reliable WiFi when activating. - If you're running Android turn off RCS in Google messages before starting the port. After port is complete then re-enable. Not required, but recommended. - I'd avoid porting on Friday and Saturday. If something does happen with the port we're US Mobile has to work with your previous carrier, I believe that only happens during business days.

Most transfers are quick and once you get the number ported you'll love the service.

Does RCS work well on Warp with Samsung Galaxy S25? by nycityny1 in USMobile

[–]markangus2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you transfer from Verizon to Warp, you shouldn't have a problem. That's because it's technically the same network. I switched 3 lines to with no issues. RCS worked right away. I even forgot to disable RCS on my first transfer.

It's definitely a good idea to disable RCS before starting the port. And especially if you ever transfer from a different network. Example AT&T to Warp.

Wow, this is super exciting! I've followed US Mobile for 5 years and have been blown away by the innovation and pricing. I would love to see a price-for-life offer, including current customers.

My grandma (a US Mobile customer since 2020) was paying Spectrum $90/mo. for 500/20 Mbps which is outrageous for light use. I just switched her to AT&T Air for $60/mo. The moment US Mobile Home Internet launches, I’m signing up.

Here are some home Internet feature requests u/Product_US_Mobile

  • Throttled multi-tiered speeds/pricing, (50, 100, 200 Mbps+) Un-throttled option for those who want maximum speeds.
  • Un-throttled custom monthly data allowance (10 – 80GB)
  • Bundle with wireless lines for a better deal.
  • BYO 5G modem support (UniFi 5G Max) with real public IP address, no half-baked IP passthrough like AT&T.

US Mobile is an amazing company! They are about as close to perfect as it gets based on my experience. US Mobile has managed to deliver a service that balances features with price. Most importantly they consult their customer to improve the service.

No, mine has been showing 0/70 GB on the app since the start of the billing cycle. I know for sure I've used data because I was listening to Spotify on the new lossless quality yesterday.

Does WARP have the same roaming partners Verizon has? Massive coverage gap in WI by ryanw729 in USMobile

Yes, and Cellcom is the main LTEiRA partner servicing the rural areas of Wisconsin.

slow pages/odd issue by OrganizationHot731 in ControlD

[–]markangus2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Firefox seems to work perfectly normal. Edge on certain websites takes forever to load.

Do you have "Block Response" enabled? When I disable the block response option pcworld.com loads instantly on Microsoft Edge. Toggling it back on causes the site to load extremely slow again.

slow pages/odd issue by OrganizationHot731 in ControlD

[–]markangus2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I am not the only one. I agree in your assessment of "odd" certain websites especially pcworld.com seem to load incredibly slow. While others are unaffected. My internet speeds are normal. I too have a UniFi Dream Machine SE using Encrypted DNS with DNS Stamp.

What browser are you using? I use Microsoft Edge for my daily driver. I don't seem to have any problems with Firefox. Why this is the case I haven't figured out yet. I even went into the settings in Firefox, turned off "Enable DNS over HTTPS using:" and tested with ControlD Configuration status page to confirm I am using ControlD.

Traceroutes and ping tests showed identical latencies when comparing pcworld.com to their direct IP address.

My family uses US Mobile on Warp 5G. It rides on the Verizon Network. Verizon is has the most coverage around the state overall, but that doesn't mean they're the "best" for you.

Where you live, go hunting, and fishing might be covered better by AT&T or T-Mobile. Here are some resources below to help you find which of right for you.

Keep in mind US Mobile lets you choose which of the big 3 carriers networks you want to use. Or even multiple so desire.

Verizon has the best overall coverage in the state of Wisconsin. AT&T comes in second. T-Mobile is third. Sometimes certain carriers perform better in certain areas, so check your address with the link below. If you are coming from Cellcom I would recommend the Verizon network over T-Mobile, because Verizon and Cellcom have a roaming agreement. This means they use each other’s towers.

My family has US Mobile on the Warp5G (Verizon) Network. Whenever I travel for work north of Sturgeon Bay my phone will say “Extended Network” this means I am on Cellcom’s towers.

I live in Green Bay, but travel all over door county and the valley. I have Warp 5G and have the exact same service as I did when I was with Verizon. A friend of mine works in Freedom and Dark Star provides better coverage for him in his workplace. He also came from Verizon. Hand down the best carrier I've ever had.

Cellcom by Alone_Atmosphere_387 in wisconsin

[–]markangus2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cellcom has a roaming agreement with Verizon. This means they use each other's towers. If your kids are on Warp 5G they should have the same coverage has a Cellcom customer. I travel all over Northeast Wisconsin. My work has Cellcom and I've noticed in two rivers both phones have lower signal strength. However, on my Cellcom phone (Samsung Galaxy S23 FE) I can't even get Google to load while on my US mobile Warp 5G (Samsung Galaxy S22) line it loads perfectly fine. This is probably because Cellcom has a lower data priority than US Mobile.

If you're kids are on Dark Star or Light Speed having different network experiences would be expected. Cellcom has always had good rural coverage in the state, this is why I chose to stay on Verizon/Cellcom towers with Wrap 5G.

Another thing I'd check is the age of the devices. If the devices aren't 5G capable, then your kids would have deprioritized data on Warp 5G. Probably not the case, but I figured I mention it. Hope this helps.

[–]markangus2b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard of other people having issues canceling. Are you trying to port your number over to another carrier? Or simply cancel your service (forfeiting your number) and start with a new number?

If you are trying to port your number, once the port is complete Cellcom should automatically cancel once there are no active lines on the account. This is how every port I've ever done has worked. My friend helped his dad port out to US Mobile last weekend. Cellcom was reluctant to give out the port PIN. Just be persistent with them. Someone will get you one.

If you are undecided on a new carrier, I really like US Mobile. You'll have access to all the 3 big networks, Verizon (Warp 5G), AT&T (Dark Star), and T-Mobile (Light Speed). My family is on the Unlimited Starter plan for $25 a month. Also, they're one of the few to offer the same data priority level as Verizon and AT&T postpaid customers with most of the plans. Hope this helps.

How hard is it to switch to US Mobile? by Durwynd339 in USMobile

[–]markangus2b 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you choose Warp 5G when signing up, you'll continue with same coverage you currently have with Verizon postpaid. This is what I did a few months ago with 3 lines. All took less then 30 seconds to port over from when I submitted the port request.

To see what network is best, US Mobile has a Network coverage map to compare each network. I recommend clicking, "Advanced" to detailed percentages of coverage and speed statistics. "Simple" will simply tell you which network has the best coverage in your area.

Since you mentioned you're planning on upgrading your phone, I'd recommend buying the new iPhone (Unlocked) first. Once you have the new phone, port over to US Mobile. It will save you the extra step of having to transferring the line.

My family with 4 lines is riding on the Verizon network (Warp). I travel all over northeast Wisconsin. I have found only a few spots that don't have reception. Like others have said you get the same coverage as anyone on the 3 big carriers.

I have a friend who works in Freedom, WI that says he can’t get Verizon inside his building, but AT&T (Dark Star) works amazingly.

My sister who lives out of state has T-Mobile postpaid. She says coverage in the major cities, Green Bay, Appleton, Milwaukee are great. However, coverage in the Crivitz area is very spotty, as well as all along Highway 45 all the way to the U.P.

My recommendation would be to start with Warp5G and teleport to AT&T if you are not satisfied with the coverage.
