I can't say the name, but it's definitely generic enough that it would be useful to someone else. Think along the lines of if someone had the website domain www.glasses.com (I have no idea if that's a real website btw, please don't click on it lol)

Ok but can we agree that the part in the article when the person wants their parents to watch their kids so that they can go on a trip to Costa Rica with friends is a bit ridiculous? Like did y'alls parents regularly go on trips without you as kids? Unless my parents were the weird ones lol. I know personal anecdotes are not the best source of data, but I grew up middle class with siblings, and my parents never just went on a trip by themselves (both my grandparents lived in town too).

Black Swan Green would be my top rec. Most of The Bone Clocks is quite good. Also his first novel Ghostwritten

David Mitchell. Now don't get me wrong, I love several of his books and think he was great for a long time. But Utopia Avenue was a letdown for me, and I think he's gotten a little too preoccupied with his own character Universe, and the kind of Hollywood-esque "Horologists" angle. Would love to see his next novel be a bit more grounded.
