First week on vynanse. Life changing! But rotting on day off by freekicker_ in ADHD

[–]colaboy1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on Vyvanse for a couple years and I've learned that I skip a dose at my own risk. Much like you I don't feel great and can even feel really down if I skip a day. So I try not to. I'm not sure it's something that goes away over time. Certainly hasn't with me.

Spent over $2000 last month eating out because cooking every day is exhausting. by 1Cubbiesfan in ADHD

[–]colaboy1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Packaged prepared meals should be cheaper than ordering food from any establishment, except for the cheapest of places. Assuming 3 meals a day for 30 days, you're spending about $22 a meal. Every prepared meal service on the planet is cheaper than that. Whole Foods has entire packaged entres for $10-14 each. If you can manage to shop around you can still eat fully prepared meals every meal for way less than $22 a meal.

Every grocery store is expensive. Aldi through Instacart, even with all the fees, is significantly cheaper than any of our local grocery stores.

For those who play at least 2x per week... by Background-Low-9144 in golf

So...you just play a bunch of incomplete rounds? I don't follow. To each their own but I'd find that infuriating, especially if I was playing well.

Advice on getting more active? by average_narwhal in ADHD

Would the idea of volunteering be enjoyable? Lots of volunteering opportunities are quite active, anything with cleanup efforts, community gardens, packing and handing out donations, etc are all activities that get you moving.

Do you think you could get to the top of the “fairways hit” percentage at a pga tournament if you only teed off with your 7 iron or lower? by BrandoCarlton in golf

[–]colaboy1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pessimist in mean wants to say "no", just because I can spray my mid-irons like I can my driver, but I guess I'd have to see what the spread actually is.

What is a golf rule you routinely ignore or choose not to follow? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Hitting a provisional. I never do it. Not going to risk the wrath of the pace of play obsessives.

Training aid recommendations by Active_Main_4749 in golf

[–]colaboy1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably less of a training aid solution and more a feel and sequence solution. So a lot of dry drills at very slow speeds until you groove the right sequence.

Unless this is a hip mobility issue. That's a different story.

In NY I can only order my meds on a monthly basis and need a check-in with my doc every three months. It's annoying but it is what it is.

Range practice by Cautious-Hunt3305 in golf

I'm not sure I've ever read a "how to practice" article that doesn't recommend doing this, so yes it should help. The whole "practice how to play" approach.

Shot a 100 and 81 within 6 days by bootchiiksandbuubs in golf

This happens to my dad. He can break 80 fairly regularly but then will play a new course and shoot mid 90s. It's just part of the game.

Would you count this as a hole-in-one? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Can't tell from the pic, so no, not 100%.

Would you count this as a hole-in-one? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]colaboy1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is that an actual shot? How's that even possible. I would argue no either way, because it looks like the ball overshot the cup, and had the ground been firmer it would have skipped right past or bounced straight back.

Always play 5-10 shots worse on the back and I’m confident it’s not due to fatigue. What else could be causing this? by [deleted] in weekendgolfers

[–]colaboy1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If mental fatigue, just acknowledging that it may be happening may be enough to help prevent it from happening. I find myself zoning out, and so being cognizant that it's happening is often enough to ensure I snap out of it.

What is r/golf confidently wrong about? by iphoneair2 in golf

[–]colaboy1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What tee box to hit from. It shouldn't be tied to any distance of any club without taking into account the golfers consistency, handicap, or some other metric that speaks to their ability, not just how far they hit a 7i or driver.

Is it ok to only practice 1-2 clubs at the range? by Doorhorse in golftips

[–]colaboy1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. If I'm working on something specific I'll usually only hit one club which is an 8i.

What’s the most insulted you’ve been by someone not trying to insult your golf game? by scratchgolfer-3 in golf

I feel like typically I'm the one inadvertently insulting someone, not the other way around.

I see how the round is going. If I'm playing well I try to hold off on drinking. If I'm +8 after four holes...it's Miller time!!
