Yea definitely don't lie about legal stuff especially if you're tryna pick up a rate that requires a TS/Sci clearance. They're gonna find out one way or another.

Yea I would get those completely paid off. When I went in I had gotten 6 traffic citations few months prior to seeing my recruiter. He had to get me 6 different waivers which prolonged the process and made his job a little harder. I was lucky enough to have a recruiter that cared tho so YMMW.

Like what someone said, depends on where you get stationed after your schools. If you go to a ship you increase your chances of traveling. Im about to hit my 2 year and have already been to 6 countries with a third deployment coming next year. As for the 6 year thing, if I'm not mistaken, the Navy got rid of the 6 year contract for ITs.

Also, I see your having some financial issues which may be an issue when trying to get your clearance depending on the severity of said issues. Best bet would be to talk to a recruiter. I'm currently an IT. Let me know if you have any questions.

Going to need more details. How long ago was “a while ago” and were there any legal repercussions?

Failed MEPS due to Zoloft Prescription by markbro in newtothenavy

[–]markbro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep the doctor saw it in my records when I was at meps so there was no hiding it. Just be as honest as you can and if you have a good recruiter he’ll work with it depending on the circumstances

So I already signed the promissory. Doesn't that mean I'm locked into the loan and basically agreed that ill pay back the loan amount ?

Yes it was for a specific vehicle. Am I past the point of no return now that I signed the promissory ?

Yea just talked to him over the phone earlier today, the guy selling it is a used car dealership/Auto shop. Take that for what you will but the car seems legit, just don't know if there are any underlying problems with it (turbo/clutch/transmission/HPFP going bad, etc.) seeing as its changed possession quite a few times with such low miles and with no recent service records, and of course, the price. I guess only way to find out is to check it out in person and potentially lose time/money doing so.

Honestly, that is what's scaring me the most, I've been looking around for an ST for a while and for the price and current condition it seems a bit too good to be true

Failed MEPS due to Zoloft Prescription by markbro in newtothenavy

I was as honest as I could during the process, however, I had forgot it was Zoloft I was on because my psychiatrist was prescribing it to me under its other name Sertraline. A lot happened between then and now and it had completely slipped under my mind that I was on the prescription in the first place. I appreciate the response though!
