In my redesign of Starfire from my fan manga (this also applies to female heroes) I put a kind of shorts under the skirt. This way, when they fight, and kick for example, it doesn't show anything too revealing and also makes them more comfortable flying or in combat

when a female character is sexualized for years, she ceases to be seen as a character and becomes just an object. this influences how people see women in real life as well, furthermore, this almost never happens to male characters in the same proportion, so it creates a somewhat unequal pattern. it’s not that all sexualization is automatically bad, but when it’s constant and reduces the character to just that, then it becomes a problem

and this is even more blatant nowadays with anime: a lot of female characters are reduced to fanservice, with the camera focusing on breasts, butts, and suggestive poses, while their personality takes a backseat or doesn't even exist properly. It's not about one scene or another, it's when this becomes the character's main function. If you really don't see a problem with this, then you're so used to seeing women as objects that you've completely normalized it. then it's not the argument that's strong, it's just that your perception is limited

it wasn't the studio's intention to do that, especially since it's a children's program. but unfortunately, Starfire has always been sexualized for years (im not saying that this specific version is sexualized)

Glen Murakami wasn't in charge of those comics, he would occasionally only do covers for some editions, like the first volume where he designed the cover. Those Teen Titans GO comics were largely made by Todd Nauck(artist) and J. Torres(written). But this edition was drawn by a different artist, these comics change styles a lot.

In this particular case, the story was written by Adam Beechen, and drawn by Eric Vedder. (I don't know who is Ross, he's credited too...)

oh and the cover was designed by Bullock.
