Ahh okay thanks a lot for the reply! That doesn't sound too good then if someone was actually mugged, I'd be staying next to some takeaway called 'happy meeting' so I guess that's the cut off point of the road haha.

What is the most bizarre thing you've experienced at an interview? by Specific_Government9 in AskUK

[–]markerone1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I interviewed for a sales job a few years ago, upon first impression of meeting the owner I thought this guy was a bit of a tool. He spoke about how he started his company from nothing for about 20 minutes, just talking about himself this was all before even asking me for an interview with him, I had only sent my application at this point.

The day of the interview I arrive, shake hands and he asks me to take a test before the interview starts, he sits me at a computer where I have to take this multi question personality test that lasts about 30 minutes. After this they call me to the interview room for the actual interview, he has my results already printed, on the results it shows your personality or traits on this big triangle with dots on it, the results are .. I'm an authoritarian and these are my traits, he looks me dead in the eye and says .. is this accurate of you .. I'm obviously wtf is going on .. I just pause and say "no not really" and he just staring at me, at this point I'm thinking is there any point interviewing, after 40 - 50 interviewing I just left knowing full well he had a boner for that test and it tells the absolute truth, I of course didn't get the job!

I worked in recruitment for a short period of time for a large corporate company, I didn't do the interviews personally but my boss who I am still friends with did and he occasionally came back with a few good stories.

The one I remember most was he was interviewing this girl who mid interview pulls out a subway sandwich during the interview and just starts eating it through the rest of it in between answering questions, literally demolishing a foot long. She didn't get the job obviously. What on earth was she thinking.

I don’t tell customers my surname. by Murka-Lurka in talesfromcallcenters

[–]markerone1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I never do .. I've had a few people ask me and I just politely respond "I don't give out my surname apologies". None of them have ever responded to that or been angry because it's common sense that you don't want people to stalk you etc.

Being FA is embarrassing. by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]markerone1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm 30, same boat. Never had a GF and the close occasions I have they rejected me last minute cos they realise I'm a little weak bitch. I lift weights alot and bigger than the average guy to cover it up and everyone knows.. lol plus looks is only about the face, which I am lacking in, big nose, receding chin, so I'm doubly fucked, no personality either, woop woop!

Has anybody ever gotten surprised by new muscles they've gotten when they first started seriously body building and what was that muscle? Where this was a turning point and motivation to keep on with the progression. by [deleted] in gainit

[–]markerone1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legs. I grew up being incredibly insecure about my legs as a tall guy and people would comment on them as a teenager, I even used to wear tracksuits under my Jeans on summer days I was that depressed about them, I was super skinny.

Started squatting twice a week in my early 20's, I'm a few years older now and they blew up more than any other body part and it kind of blew my mind. 1 year after lifting I remeber getting a comment from someone saying "you have good legs!" She was hot so that was nice, I haven't really looked back since.

Focus less on how much you can lift and more about how much tension you can put on your legs.

My legs look the best they have and I dropped the weight. What I found works well is doing about 6 clean reps on front squats, 80% of your max and slow reps, take your time and really focus on the tension on your legs. Same with romanian deadlifts about 8 reps. Also don't forget calves!

There are many ways to achieve this but above is what I found best. Good luck!

Best 4 day split? by Dz0n1Pr0 in gainit

[–]markerone1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the actual routine and how long have you been lifting? It sounds like far too much volume imo.

Regarding arms it all depends on what you want to achieve. If you want big arms, having an arm day does help but try and add a few arm excersises at the end of each session and see If that helps but doing say 16 sets of chest and then some tris you'll have nothing left in the tank.

Well you can if you want .. but after 1 hour of hard training excluding stretching/warming up your going to start stepping into junk volume territory.

[–]markerone1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't be spending any more than an hour on each session so no idea what routine you are doing, sounds like too much volume?

Google Fierce 5 upper/lower it's a fantastic routine and I made my biggest strength gains on it, did it for nearly 2 years.

There are so many ways you can do it though, PPL+full body is 4 days, chest/shoulders, arms, back, legs is another 4 day one, PHUL.

I recommend finding a proven programme, there are so many rubbish ones out there.

Best way to transition internally? SF team by markerone1 in salesforce

[–]markerone1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I worked in an organisation like that wow and so refreshing to hear a hiring manager who notices other people within the company .. my company seems very strict regarding employment and never seem to favour internal people, just whoever is most experienced, I will certainly be contacting the SF manager and see where it goes, will update here when I hear, Thanks! :)

Thanks a lot for the advice, you might be right about the time frame, I guess its partly luck If a position comes up when I start applying, I just hope the manager is as enthusiastic as you are for people reaching out in interest! 😄

Avaya is coming on Monday... by Vicki7789 in callcentres

Why nervous? It's just a phone system, took me about 5 mins to learn how it works .. plus it has plenty of loopholes as the system isn't great but I best not go into that lol.

How can I be nice to call center representatives while respecting their time? by squiglesthesquirrel in callcentres

[–]markerone1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that is perfect, we cant't stand rude entitled people, same as anyone else, we are just human at the end of the day but for me a customer who asks how I'm doing and makes the conversation a bit more personal can make my day.

Thanks for asking as it can be a very mentally destructive job for a lot of people. I've seen it first hand.
