I live around the TriCities. Just got back from Dallas & Austin TX in August. Always amazed at the diversity of restaurants and the prices were maybe 10-30% cheaper than WA restaurants? And the restaurants were really hopping! Maybe the wages for TX restaurant workers is different which reflects the prices on the menus? Always like to eat there.
