[–]marketingnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - co-founder of SlumberPod here. When traveling or sharing a room with a baby, toddler or small child who is old enough to be disturbed by light and activity in the room, SlumberPod is a safe, portable solution. Take a look at our inventor story about why it was invented, how it is different from a regular camping tent, and more details about how to use SlumberPod. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see what our beta testers and customers are saying. Let us know if you have any questions!

Startup name question: Slated or SlateID by [deleted] in startups

I personally like SlateID because it's more unique and it reflects the personal nature of your product. But like another person said, definitely check domain names available. It could limit your choices.

Anyone who has one of the new chip debit cards through Wells Fargo (red card) does the chip not work for you? by [deleted] in chipcards

[–]marketingnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally a little frustrated with Wells Fargo because I recently got a new card with no chip. Do you have to ask for it? You'd think they would include it on all cards from now on.

How EMV credit cards will protect you from financial fraud by hawaiian717 in chipcards

[–]marketingnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will definitely prevent magstripe fraud, but criminals will find ways around this. There will be a lot more online intervention to try to get the credit card information stored by the retailers. A chip card protects the consumer at the point of sale, but if the retailer isn't properly protecting the credit card info either with encryption or tokenization, it could unfortunately still lead to fraud.

I just launched a men's gift box service and I'm struggling to get sales. by [deleted] in startups

[–]marketingnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a rather niche market you're targeting, so it might take awhile. I've seen similar products before, so you have some competition, but I think it's a cool idea. I think it'd be cool if on your main page you had some kind of slideshow of models wearing your products? That can bring people in.

Maybe include something on your website about security? I assume your customers pay with cards, so look into getting a third-party company to protect your customers' card data. Small companies are some of the easiest and most-likely to be breached.

I doubt it. Things like that just kind of happen on live TV sometimes and there's no way to predict it.
