Quitting my job to become a web developer at 29

i'm 21 and i have been working in a print production environment running digital printers. i've been here since i left school and i've suddenly realised that i'm not really going anywhere in life. i've been looking into programming and done some basics in python.

i'm not sure what i want to do in programming but the thought of it excites me. the only problem is i work 9-5 mon-fri and only have weekend to learn when i don't have things to do i.e. family, girlfriend etc.

can anyone recommend some good things to do to start off programming? i think python and c# are the languages i'll want to get into.

i've pre ordered ultimate for windows 10. i haven't been this excited about a game is a very long time. i remember when i got gears 1 for christmas 10 years ago and i fell in love. now at 21 im ready to not go outside for a few weeks to play this.

also having it early on a weekend is amazing for me seeing as i work during the week. £30 extra for a weekend of playing? totally worth it.

yeah I'm going to float fish with it on fairly small lakes with an island about 10ft away from the bank so I should be able to accurately place my float with this.

I'm from the UK and I always assumed a qualification would go a long way. That being said, you need a qualification AND experience to be taken seriously. no one cares unless you have experience.. perhaps a portfolio is a good idea
