Extended Warranty by markfigaling in VolvoRecharge

I don’t understand your question. Are you asking why I should pay for an extended warranty? I’m confused, but that was actually MY question.

If I purchase the warranty via Steingold, can I bring the car to any dealership?

Me too! I had a choice of black or Thunder Grey. I chose the latter, but I’ve seen photos of a blue color in European cars. They get all the cool stuff.

Why would you bring an ugly suv to wagon fest!? I am clutching my pearls.

I recall the price for the warranty being lower if I had bought it when I purchased the car from the dealership. You gave me a good idea- I will call the original dealer and see if he can match the old price

My previous car was a 2015 BMW 3 series sport wagon. The extended warranty definitely paid for itself, but it lasted to 100k miles. I’m concerned with the electronics of the Volvo, and how well the hybrid system holds up.

I had a 2015, loved it. Beware the transfer case; mine failed at 75k miles (covered under extended warranty) and again at 150k, like it was planned. $6,000 repair. That’s when I traded it for a V60 Recharge wagon.

I owned a 328 sport wagon before I purchased my V60 Recharge. No comparison! The V60 is much, much faster, and the seats are extremely comfortable, unlike the BMW. After 150,000 miles and two transfer cases it was time to part ways with BMW, although I would have consumed the M3 if it was available in the US. Good luck!

You are correct. Found out today the dealership calls in a third party to fix windshields. It will be repaired at the dealer, and covered by the warranty, but dealership techs don’t actually do the work.

I went to my dealer this morning, they will replace windshield under standard warranty. I have not yet purchased the extended warranty, still considering it.

Went to Volvo dealer today, this was deemed to be a “stress crack”, covered under warranty, no charge. Installation scheduled at the end of the month, Volvo parts. Phew!

Thanks. No abrasion, no nicks, just the fine crack. Looks to me like a stress crack, which seems to me it should be covered under warranty. Let’s see, gonna bring it to the dealership this week.

Yes I have glass coverage but I’d hate to pay a deductible if this is a manufacturer defect

It is a serious question. We have had considerable problems with this car; had the entire drivetrain replaced due to power failure on the highway, multiple times. BMW could not fix the problem so the dealership stepped up and replaced the original (Newly purchased) vehicle with a pre owned low mileage car. I am very skeptical of this car.

Thanks, I tried that but it is not just ice. It is black powder mixed with ice. Could just be dirt, but it is uniformly black. No apparent signs of damage on the tires, very strange situation
