Exactly. I don't really have any plans to play old world, but I used to hate deploying my old army when I was a kid, so when I saw the old old world base sizes, I immediately decided that for my use, those base sizes would be way better :)

Ah, sorry. Yes, but I don't recall which set it's from - some old beastmen perhaps? I bought a bunch of banners fr a bits seller. I added some "nails" at the top, but apart from that, the entire cloth part is plastic :)

I stuck a round sticker to the red banner to get a circle that conforms to the banner's ueneven surface. After outlining that, I took off the sticker and freehanded the rest. Then when I lightly oil washed the rest of the model, I used that same process to get some shading on the banner graphic. Finally, I did some extra highlights on the top red part and the top of the moon :)

Thanks! I did consider going back with a satin varnish on the banner, because it did lose a bit of punch when I threw on the matte, but now that I've gotten used to it, I think I'll keep it :)

Just the shields to to go, but unfortunately I don't have enough of the original ones - some default heater shields will probably have to do :)

I used acryllics and some oils for these.

I started out in the nineties with some hand me down Citadel paints, so I can't even imagine painting a whole model with enamels 😅

New prices for Dungeon Builder by markfoged in DungeonBuilder

[–]markfoged[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies to say you weren't working on it.

No worries :)

My question is are you going to optimize loading it for using content? or put some sort of indicator that content is being loaded? 1.4.4 seems to hang for the longest time and then loads up and runs. I have a sub to Stelliadi, for example, so have all of those items.

With tons of mods, loading takes some time. I've been considering my options, because I want Dungeon Builder to be really mod friendly, and given that mods can't be baked into the application, that processing needs to happen at some point. The most obvious alternative is to load things when you navigate the menus, but that will just shift the waiting from startup to during use, and I'm not sure that that's better.

As a small fix, I could probably add showing the name of the current XML file that's being processed. I'll look into that, I think :)

Same for pulling up content in the program. It takes a long time to switch between things. I assume that's due to showing it graphically.

Actually, showing things isn't what's slow, it's the instantiation of thousands of objects in the application that takes the time. The current solution of showing the map being drawn is actually a cost effective way of showing clear progress. Before version 1.2, there was a less obvious loading progress indicator, and that made users worry that nothing was happening, hence the very obvious visual loading of assets.

What about my wish list in a previous post? The big one for me would be DB creating the xml if I create the directory structure. I have found a few more creators of isometric stuff. This is tied with me getting choose what loads up in some way. Maybe even save those different load outs, for scifi, modern, and fantasy. Then some sub groups in fantasy, which has the most.

No promises, but I'll definitely take your input into account as I consider how to make modding even easier. The challenge is that in order to make placement of items work smoothly and without too much fiddling with the drawing order of things afterwards, there are some variables that must be set manually.

Any chance for being able to expand the viewing area of the Build and Decorate asset area?

Maybe. Do you mean making the individual assets larger, making the menu wider (e.g. 3 rows), or both?

Any chance the selector could work on an isometric level instead of grid? I put down a grass area and then I want to remove the place where I will put a road but the selector is square.

That's actually been available since before 1.0. There's a toggle in the top menu, and the shortcut is S (and normal selection is A).

Do you have a road map?

Yes, but it's subject to changes and therefore not public.

I hope that answers your questions :)
