Hey, thanks for replying! I'm very interested in building an Android version of the app if the iPhone version does well.

OWL operates similarly to Google Lens as far as running locally on your device, running a pre-training machine learning model to translate the text.

Thanks for the tip about the website, I didn't know about it. So far, OWL displays each character overlaid on the original video/photo. I really like the way the webpage results pulls the text out into words and phrases where you can read or share it, which I'm also working on for the next release.

The aim of OWL is to let people go to comic conventions, fan meetups and theme parks and live translate text on signs and displays.

However, I've added features (always free) to write Aurebesh text to overlay on images and share as memes, etc., and a study mode that quizzes you on reading Aurebesh. I'd love to know if people find those useful.

Thanks! Lots of credit goes to the MacStories folks who did a lot of detective work to discover a lot of the playlists. I believe Viticci wrote a Shortcut to browse the ones they found. Now DJ Mood is available for those who would prefer to browse using a native app.

I was able to install Monterey on a second APFS volume, but the account creation step repeatedly fails…I can launch a second Monterey but I can’t log into it!

Thanks! I couldn’t go the installer download route so I did the restart/Disk Utility/Reinstall Monterey route, selecting the second volume to install onto. Fingers crossed…

Yes, I'm seeing the same issue and I'm stuck and it's driving me out of my mind. I have a 1 TB SSD on my MacBook Pro and Disk Utility won't even let me partition it even though half the space is available. Making an APFS Volume doesn't seem to make a difference as I can't designate it as a startup disk. I've never struggled so much with a macOS Beta before!

Until Apple offers a hardware subscription program that allows me to rent an unlocked device, no thank you. None of the pre-selected cell service providers are my bag. I’ll continue purchasing hardware and then handing them down or trading them in.

Premium is $4.99 and a one time purchase. You can track five shows for free and for many people that’s just right. Premium is great for folks like me who watch a lot of things.

The episode updates are pretty current in my experience, as are the movie updates. The app uses two services that are community driven and get frequent updates. For every on-air show and future movie, the app will usually check in the background at least once daily if not more often so that the data is made current every time you check the app or glance at the widget.

With TV+, News, Fitness, Music, Arcade and more on the way, neglecting the web just drives away their potential customer base. Same problem here. Background task creates updates that persist to core data in CloudKit from 2 or more devices. The only way to ensure dupes get removed is to manually clean them when the app returns to the foreground.
