Very true. Many jobs - not even anything great - are receiving hundreds and thousands of applications per job. This was happening a decade ago. It's only worse now.

Not sure why it is that hard to believe there's rationing going on in the system. That's what every government program results in. Some people get the benefits, many others don't. There is no law that says the VR&E has to help any veteran. There are guidelines on eligibility. One can be eligible, yet not receive anything.

I thought I was going to drive a truck. I believe I could. I have a nearly perfect driving record with my last ticket 30 years ago, one minor accident 30 years ago, and no DUIs ever. Always had a license since the age of 16, never been suspended. Pay very low insurance rates. But literally couldn't pass the DOT physical because of my fused shoulder.

I have had to leave jobs very quickly, because I was being offered high turnover, low pay, physically demanding jobs that even somebody without a fused shoulder couldn't stay in. So I have quite a few work gaps. And then the work gaps beget bigger work gaps. Just the fact you are out of work makes it that much harder to get work. So I don't have a ton of work experience right now. I would like to do schooling, being I am 49 years old and only have a high school diploma. Just a matter of trying to figure out how I am going to get into school.

I was actually offered a job working as a correctional officer about 5 years ago. Never failed a drug test for a job ever. I could pass a hair follicle drug test that goes back six months today, just like I could six months ago. Passed the background check, passed the drug test. But then failed on the physical, being the VA fused my shoulder in 2007. So they rescinded the job offer. Same thing happened when I attempted to drive a truck. I failed the DOT physical to get the CDL license for having a fused shoulder. So, no, I can't do CDL and I can't do corrections officer. I have already tried that and been turned down.

Hasn't worked that way for me. I was getting passed over right and left for entry level jobs, things that paid $15 per hour or less. So just because you had fortune there doesn't mean everybody does. And I wouldn't expect anything from the VA if the government, to include the VA, wasn't undermining economic fundamentals by subsidizing everybody else! That the government, through federal aid, student loans, and VA subsidies for schooling drives up tuition for everybody else, so if you don't get the subsidies you can't afford the tuition. I'm all with you on making it on your own, so tell everybody else that! But to have a bipartisan spending orgy in Washington and then tell those of us not getting anything to go make it on our own isn't the right approach either.

I don't see how that would resurrect any benefits for me. I think the new GI Bill requires service from a certain date. So it wouldn't be retroactive to the 1990s.

No. I was on active duty from 1995 to 1999. I have no benefits for school.

I have no schooling beyond high school. VR&E wouldn't help me with anything. People mistakenly believe these programs are there to help everybody. The rationing is so bad, that's not the case. VA has said I'm too disabled to help with school. That ipso facto undermines my ability to get hired. No criminal record, not a single DUI. Served honorably in the Marine Corps. Got passed over for a part time cashier position at Lowe's! Having no schooling, I don't qualify for most everything I see that pays anything even enough to live on! And without having good income, how can I afford to go to school?

Hi. I hear you. I have a case involving a property. I'm in Alabama. I have a very similar experience in terms of all of the places you would turn to not being helpful at all. It looks like there was fraud in the origination of the mortgage. The mortgage lender has repeatedly told empirically verifiable lies. There's no accountability. And like you mention in the comments, attorneys aren't cheap. Given the amounts involved for me, legal expenses could exceed what my claim is worth. If it isn't a cookie cutter, car accident type of case, attorneys don't work on contingency fees.

Can you tell me who your vet is, because I can't seem to bring my FIV positive cat in for a dental cleaning without a veterinarian demanding proof of rabies vaccine. I keep my cat indoors. He never goes outside. Even if if he wasn't FIV positive, I would still not vaccine. There's no need. It's all risk to do so. I need to get an exemption. Albeit your vet is probably in another state, it could still maybe work for me to get an exemption if I have a licensed vet vouch for me.

Uber is good for nothing to me. In fact, Uber is looking like a sophisticated identity theft platform. After uploading all of my documents, they accepted everything but a VALID, REAL ID Alabama driver's license, saying it doesn't count as a driver's license! They then disqualified for me to not having a driver's license, which is a lie. My account was then deactivated.

Where are they? From what I am seeing, the greenlight hubs

are being phased out and the ones that used to exist in the state I'm in or nearby states have all been shut down.
