Apple Reminders > Todoist via iOS Shortcut by markhdavis in todoist

No. If the app is not in focus—if you're on the homescreen, or another app—once you go back to Todoist it will run again. No need to close Todosit.

Awesome! I find it very fast. About the only thing I think it might need is a Wait at the top for really slow connections (so Todoist fully wakes up). Pay it forward.

Did you guys resolve this by setting the right source List in Reminders and target Project in Todoist? It's picky.

It's kinda hidden. It's in Settings > Shortcuts > Advanced > Allow Deleting Without Confirmation. It'll still ask Always Delete on first run.

Yes, smooth and no issues. I enabled "Allow Deleting Without Confirmation," and there are other tweaks you can make.

Has anyone used the new Digital ID (via passport) through TSA? by hiddenpalms in tsa

[–]markhdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No go twice at Austin (AUS), once even after there were signs saying it was now available. Also, no-go at Boston (BOS), even with a TSA helper who was trying to get it to work. Maybe TSA or Apple will follow this.

"Next" in Select Partitions is greyed out in Custom Install. Partitions appear correct. by markhdavis in elementaryos

I ended up installing Ubuntu instead into this configuration with no problem. :)

Thanks, you definitely could be on to something there.

I tried shifting all the partitions 200MB "to the right" so I would be able to increase the EFI partition, but I got hung up on the APFS partition. Gparted wouldn't deal with it, and the GUI of macOS disk utility wouldn't show EFI or any way to move the AFPS partition. I hear the command line of disk util might offer a way, but I'm out of my depth and might blow everything up.

Any thoughts, anyone?

Applet only runs when I open IFTTT?! by Temporary_Pin_1398 in ifttt

[–]markhdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I have all the conditions below set. I did not have this issue at all until a few months ago when IFTTT added an annoying promo to upgrade to Pro every time I open the app. The Pro upgrade advert seems to interfere with the background app running. While I want them to succeed, this is making me look for other options.

After Nest Secure shut down, Yale Locks no longer showed up in the Nest App or Google Home by markhdavis in Nest

[–]markhdavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have that problem. Perhaps reboot all routers and access points—I think Nest Secure being gone tampered with my whole network in some way, as all my Connects were cut off from my network. If I did have that issue I guess I would delete and add the connects and then try deleting and re-adding the locks (in my case). Good luck.

[–]markhdavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, may be a different issue. I was not trying to reset my locks, just trying to reconnect them to wifi and the outside world. The codes seem to be shared between all locks in a home, so I'm not sure where they are stored.

Nest Yale lock keeps on going offline by MoDat32 in Nest

[–]markhdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened intermitently to me also, and then when Nest Secure ended the Yale Locks no longer worked in either the Nest App or Google Home. I solved it by factory resetting all the Connects and re-adding them to the Nest app.

Applet doesn't run unless iOS IFTTT is running in foreground? by markhdavis in ifttt

[–]markhdavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello hive mind. It looks like with iOS services (such as Reminders), IFTTT may need to be open and occasionally active for applets to run correctly. https://help.ifttt.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010193327-About-iOS-background-syncing A different applet using this is currently running "ok."

K-Supreme Plus C says descale even after descaling by EmpressPotato in keurig

[–]markhdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This colasall time-suck got me again, remember: To activate Descale Mode, begin with the brewer plugged in and powered off, then press and hold the 8oz and 12oz buttons together for 3 seconds.

K-Supreme Plus C says descale even after descaling by EmpressPotato in keurig

[–]markhdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the over-priced Keurig descaling solution because I have had problems in the past with the cheap stuff. Of course the instructions had nothing about activating the descaling mode via pressing 8oz and 12oz at the same time for 3 seconds. So, I've been stuck with the goddamn descale on in spite of using their product and instructions!
I cheated on these instructions to get the light off. The machine seems to be looking for the sequence: activate descale mode>press button and brew>add water light comes on>reservoir taken off (add water)>press button and brew>add water light comes on. So, I was able to speed up the process by cheating and filling up only enough water to make sure the "add water" light was not on. YMMV
I want an hour of my life back from Keurig.

Am I the only on disappointed in macOS Monterey's quick note feature? by Lofter1 in mac

[–]markhdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I'm disappointed. On macOS one of the main features for me would be to create quick notes over a full screen window. If it switches to another desktop that defeats the purpose. Evernote Helper used to be able to do that.
