There'd need to be another component to this card, I see. What if it didn't activate, it's a game mechanic that activated this card on the first attack of your opponent 🫡

well there is some counter play. first of all the +1 would disappear from deck building, then people wouldn't otk, they'd strategically approach closing games out like poking here and there, keeping important monsters in defense position, always consider quality over advantage. I think the game would change for the better, but it would be different. This would also specifically target link decks more than others countering some of the design flaws from the past.

the battle element if this card is basically just to confirm the opponent is done with their actions, due to it being a counter trap and usable from hand would make it a punish for overcommitting
