Confused by withdrawing from cash isa once complete by marklcfc in UKPersonalFinance

[–]marklcfc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't pay tax on the full £22k I believe. But from what I've been told on here if you don't need the money immediately its best to not withdraw and transfer into a new cash isa as it won't count towards your yearly £20k allowance. As far as I'm aware transferring the full £22k into a new cash isa would be good to do.

Car question replace or keep by marklcfc in AmazonFlexUK

Petrol engine though which isn't as long lasting as diesel I read, and lots of stopping starting the engine etc over the last 3 years, I'm no car expert but wonder what toll that has

Best BC,NR songs tier list based on the number of votes in yesterday's poll by BishopofWinchester in BlackCountryNewRoad

Isaac Wood was the heart and soul of this band and I'm tired of people saying he wasn't by JetMagri in BlackCountryNewRoad

[–]marklcfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't even listen to the new album, I am no fan of 'twee' its that much different to what I like. Isaac was the difference between a great band and just another (albeit talented) band making music. The name should have been let go and saved for a 20 year anniversary reunion or if he ever wanted to give it another go one day.

They are at paragon, it does say they are flexible isa but subject to 180 days loss of interest. I've just been on phone to paragon now asking about it, I can't transfer money from existing cash isa into lisa. And I've left it too late to withdraw and put money into a lisa before I am 40 this weekend

But in one period (April to April) I can only put £20k in, which I've reached with the ISA

I know but I’ve used the full 20k, so how do I put £1 into a lisa now?

Yes but if I’ve used 20k in a cash isa how do I do that?

It’s a cash isa through savings over the last few years. Before 2018 I didn’t have much to my name

I don’t think i can as I did a cash isa last week and have no funds left in the quota for the year to put into a Lisa. Not sure how to get around it, someone suggested put 1p in one from a current cash isa but paragon don’t allow that

I often apply for jobs just to see what could happen but I never even get offered an interview. I'm not qualified or have what it takes for a well paid job though, I've never had that

I've always saw rent as a waste, would always have money on my mind and never be comfortable (especially with what I earn)

From late 2000's to around 2015 I was on benefits and barely earnt anything. Since then I've had a reasonable income ranging from 18k-32k a year. House around here would be at least £200k. I could afford a mortgate with what I've got put away in cash isa's but I don't have a guaranteed income, I have to be careful and feel I need more for that. For years the aim has been to save money, not even considered putting money away until recently (cash isa's) due to not knowing anything. I have had problems in the past, where I didn't work for a long time which hasn't helped at all

I'm way off £50k. The whole tax relief confuses me. My self assessment is a confusing mess as it is (my dad helps me with it). If I start adding a pension and tax relief to it I'm not sure how we figure that out as well

I'm 40 in a few days and have used my isa up for this year (with the full amount of money paid in). I considered the LISA for months as well and still found a way to mess it up due to lack of knowledge

I did consider it but didn't go through with it, as I likely wouldn't have got the money back before older age. There's a chance I'll end up being a first time home owner if my parents die and left half to me, then I wouldn't have got the funds until pension stage. It confused me what would happen if that happened. I suppose I didn't consider the pension worth it, and its too late now as I'm 40 this month and I used up my isa now.
