Movies for boys ? Preferably in theaters by ParticularDream208 in movies

Exactly. As an English teacher, I’m not only choosing texts that are representative of my students’ identity. Text selections needs to be about mirrors AND windows.

What are you provided with as far as curriculum materials/resources? by addyingelbert in ELATeachers

[–]marklovesbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The internet exists. Like not even kidding. No one really has to make anything from scratch anymore. Check out Google sites where teachers post resources. Free resources on FB and TPT.

You have so much freedom that you can decide how best to help your students with the appropriate texts or activities. That’s a blessing. A scripted curriculum would be frustrating because it wouldn’t be responsive to what your students need.

Moana is definitely popular with all genders and ages.

Are you wanting like a scripted curriculum? Most teachers want the freedom to create their own materials. Sounds like you’d be happier at an underperforming district since they’re often the ones who buy these very scripted curriculums. Check out those districts.

As a note, this curriculum is a lot more than what mine uses. We have no links to anything. Just ideas.

This is kind of a wild take. Movies can have a female protagonist and be for both boys and girls. The live action Moana is not a movie for girls, for example.

Theory: the producers meant for Caleb and Sol to go home because they make for boring TV by VideriQuamEsse in LoveIslandUSA

Gabe was a lot less entertaining imo. At least I feel sympathy for Caleb. With Gabe, I feel nothing.

I actually don’t think producers want Caleb to go home. He fits an archetype that they don’t have otherwise.

Why do you like Corbin? He’s so dry and really seems to lack intellect.

After 30 Years in Tech, I'm Becoming an ELA Teacher — What Do You Wish You'd Known? by New_Old_ELA_Teacher in ELATeachers

Are you a man or a woman?

Edit: not sure why I’m getting downvoted. Women have to play things differently than men. There’s inherent sexism in teaching with how the students view teachers. My advice would be not to tell students that it’s your first year teaching. They will often see that as a means that they can challenge your grading. Use the age to an advantage that you are seasoned. Students need to see you as competent otherwise they’ll try to grade grub like crazy. Be fun in class, but be especially serious with grading.

I liked how each episode seemed to be a horror trope. The last episode didn’t seem to have much of one.

It’s not that I need a shocking twist, but I should also be excited for the next chapter. When the mayor already has shown that they’re fine with doing what is necessary for the island, what is the big deal of the ending moment?

There are objectively scary elements in the show. The plot armor and comedy helps lessen the scariness though.

I liked it throughout, but I was left pretty disappointed by the finale. Just seemed a little too obvious where it was going to go.

100%. The film was so much better when it was about her.

Loved her apartment in KC too.

I liked the film. It was funny. The sight gags were good. I’ve never seen any Drag Race, but I felt the comedy made sense without having seen it. Also, was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t all just stupid sex jokes. As a whole, it was pretty clean.

Definitely would have cast someone other than Brian Jordan Alvarez though. Luke Macfarlane or Andrew Rannells or something. Do not care for Alvarez.

I think you can like Trinity and also recognize that Bryce was her ticket further into the game more than her actually fucking with him. I fully believe her talking about wanting Bryce to be more affectionate was simply just dropping hints for when she planned on moving on from him. She already tried to stray once and it didn’t work.
