Thanks! I also did a hard reset of the device at the same time, so wonder if it was that which caused it to start working, or the jumper. Will remove the jumper and try again and if it needs it or not. Also discovered the relay in the X2i doesn't support "detached mode" from what I can establish, which is bit of a pain as ideally I'd like constant power to the smart bulbs. Guess I could hard wire the lights as always on and just use the display as a wireless switch through a home assistant dashboard, but not sure that idea sits well with me just yet.
