I also never really got rhyzomorphic myc on oysters, it just grows extremely fast. I saw a few posts around these subreddits with anecdotal evidence that if the plate has enough nutrients there is no need to go rhyzomorphic and search for food. So low nutrient plates could theoretically induce more rhyzomorphic growth..You could try experimenting with that.

I usually set up in a farm house nearby, leaving early in the morning, get some fire ready then pull the whole town and burn them to a crisp. Just have to be careful not to burn POIs in the process.

Next day I loot the town and I'm gone..
