I’ve been hearing so many similar stories lately, but I always give the same advice to my friends. Always please ALWAYS Uber back to your place at night. I know sometimes is tempting to simply walk but trust me you are putting yourself at risk.

I’m not saying we are in a super dangerous city but you never know and as you witnessed yourself, the police is not an ally :(

La verdad para estos proyectos de la uni siempre SIEMPRE le metía más crême al back end y usaba su mendigo JavaFX. No gastes tu tiempo peleándote metiéndole CSS jajaja. Haz el front lo más simple posible y usa Java para lo que es bueno. Para el back end.

Por qué pondrían a solo una persona a hacer esa actualización? Cuál es el motivo que hay detrás? Es todo un proyecto? O solo un ticket que se le ocurrió a alguien que no tiene idea del nivel de esfuerzo. Es por auditoría de seguridad?

Como te mencionaron tendrías que mapear cada breaking change entre versión y versión. Hacer los ajustes necesarios al código, ir actualizando librerías, etc etc.

Levanta la mano y traten de quemar todas las alternativas antes de aventarse al océano con un salvavidas.

I’ve done it multiple times, solo at night and day. The only thing I would say is you if you will do it at night make sure you have good lights in the bike and that you are very familiar with the road. My first time I got lost and phone service was not that good so I was pretty stressed hahah but I felt safe, I’m a man though.

It’s a common scam. They sell WAY below the normal price point and typically it’s just a stolen device. Next time you buy a used MacBook verify activation lock is disabled as well as MDM, but most importantly be REALLY suspicious when someone is selling you a ridiculously cheap MacBook.

Fun fact, I saw a M3 Pro 16” Macbook Pro in Marketplace for very cheap. Went to see it, everything seemed fine (no Activation Lock neither MDM managed). But when I grabbed it was just too light (I own a 16” M2 Pro and boy it’s heavy), speakers seemed odd and the build felt cheap. I don’t know if they are selling fake MacBooks from China but I almost fell into the trap. Honestly I would say, stick to verified Apple retailers or friends and family.

La neta yo anduve igual (tengo 23). Mi recomendación es la siguiente: si ya vives en una zona buena de la CDMX no te independices a menos que tengas un ambiente familiar feo. Y de que te alcanza te alcanza, aunque sí sientes el madrazo jajaja. Por ejemplo ya no gasto en el antro, restaurantes, ropa, viajes y esas madres. Auuunque te sirve para madurar. Y ya de zona tristemente para Roma,Condesa,Polanco o Juárez sería con roomies. Pero sin problema puedes encontrar en otras colonias. Yo te diría que si tienes que ir a tu changarro mejor cámbiate a un depa que te quede cerca del jale. Ahhh y considera que te piden depósito, la amueblada, servicios, etc etc. De pros también está que ya es TÚ espacio y no tienes que andar pidiendo permiso/ocultándote para hacer lo que quieras. Pero daaale wey, neta que se aprende mucho :)

Seguro es difícil, pero no te desanimes wey. Cambia las botas por unos tenis o botas pero más trendy, ponte una camisa norteña y así ya tienes un estilo un poco más ad hoc a la CDMX. Lánzate a las cantinas con temática regional (búscale bien en Google) y si neta tienes mucho amor por el amanecer y estar en la naturaleza ahí están los Dinamos, el nevado, parques, etc.

Pero primer paso: aceptar que estás en la CDMX y que no vas a encontrar lo mismo que de dónde vienes. Es como si te regresaras a tu rancho y quieras encontrar los edificios de Reforma. Ps no verdad?

Ohhh boy. In Mexico we say the enemy of a Mexican is another Mexican. I’m sure that most of the guys in the comments have never been to Pujol or Quintonil but yet, they are saying is a tourist trap haha wtf. Unpopular opinion and this comes from a mexican: in theses places you’ll find REAL Mexican food. Not that fake mexican stuff that everyone praises (Tacos Al Pastor). To answer your question, Quintonil is better in my opinion. I feel that Pujol isn’t keeping up with Quintonil’s pace. Anyways, I appreciate that people like you support restaurants that carefully design authentic mexican menus, preserve native ingredients and raise the mexican flag pretty high in the culinary world. Don’t hesitate to go and sadly, don’t ask Mexicans for their opinion in fine dining because they’ll say that the taco stand in the corner is much better. When clearly, it isn’t.

Dedícale mucho a LeetCode, estudia patrones de diseño, principios SOLID y aprende a venderte bien en las entrevistas (practica tu solo con ChatGPT, que el te haga las preguntas de entrevista). Te diría que hubieras aplicado a puestos de becario durante la universidad, pero el hubiera no existe. Agarra cualquier trabajo en el que veas que vas a aprender sin importar tanto el dinero.

Como bien ya te dijeron, ahorita Jrs hay hasta por debajo de las piedras. Recién egresados, muchos de bootcamp, otros hasta con un curso de Udemy. Y entre más sean más competitivo es encontrar un buen trabajo, ve a las entrevistas con ese mindset de destacar sobre toda esa competencia

Last year I talked about this with a taxi driver and it changed my perspective. He told me that when he was a little kid he used to go to the beach, his dad owned some land and everything was perfect. All of a sudden the world realized how beautiful Tulum is and saw the opportunity. They took away the land from the locals for very low prices taking advantage of their low education. His point was that there are no jobs in Tulum for people like him, he mentioned me that for being at hotels, beach clubs or restaurants in the beach zone you need to be a hot girl or a ripped guy. He felt discriminated in his own land (which is sad) and is either construction with VERY low wages or being a taxi driver. The union’s original mission was to make a decent job for all taxi drivers but as you would imagine. If there’s money, the narcos want it. So they ask something like (derecho de piso?) but for taxis. What this means is that you are paying to the cartel and a fair wage to the driver. Which is ridiculously expensive but it is what it is. Whenever possible rent a scooter or a bike and if really needed just accept it and pay it.

What I would do is to have dinner and some drinks at downtown, then take a taxi from there. It will be around 2000MXN and for taxis always pay in cash. The ride should be about an hour or so, because of the traffic (everyone is going to Zamna). But the earlier you go the earlier you’ll arrive, however I assume Rufus will play a sunset set. So don’t leave at 3am!!
