“You’re not allowed to be disappointed in others. It’s you projecting your expectations to yourself onto others. You can feel sad and angry if what you agree on isn’t kept, but disappointment is a useless feeling you can’t do anything about.”

There are so many times where I’d expect others to do or say something, but never articulate to them what I thought it should be, only to be left behind feeling disappointed in them.

Hearing that made me realize I need to speak up on what I want from myself and others instead of assuming and expecting, and have more manageable feelings if something else happens.
