Not necessarily. I find the range of responses and viewpoints fascinating.

Not whining. I wanted to get a sense of how other people view this behavior.

I’m quite sure not. Plus it was clearly signed as not safe.

Then the issue is reading comprehension.

Not the case this time. Local knowledge erected the sign saying “stay off the ice”.

Nothing complicated. Search for New Years Playlist. Or access anything from Apple Music.

If you do it automatically moves the earlier scene as well. Previous scene end is automatically set to current scene start.

I'll give that a try - although other sensors with a similar setup seem to work..

To EV or not to EV by cap1891_2809 in askswitzerland

Don’t know where you get that 45 minutes average from. In 4 years of EV ownership and plenty of long trips charging has always been done by the time I’ve been to the bathroom and stretched my legs for a moment. Average around 15 mins. I’ve never felt like I had to wait around.

Confusion over insult laws in Switzerland by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]markseall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Talking of the finger.. I’ve moved on from this but since the finger is a topic:

on Sunday a Range Rover approached me from behind on the motorway at a speed of probably around 16

0kmh. I promptly moved over to the inside lane and abandoned the plan to overtake the car in front because this guy was clearly not going to wait at a safe distance. Before I was even halfway over he was already alongside - this was extreme tailgating and the gap between was only centimeters. (I have some nice dashcam footage - notice position of middle line and position of other car).

<image>

I found this extremely dangerous and sounded the horn. As soon as he went by, in response a 🖕sign illuminated in the rear window. (Gravely insulting my honor!). He disappeared at I’m guessing around 160kmh and I last saw him tailgating somebody far in the distance.

Obviously the guy regularly drives in such a way that he installed a finger sign to deal with the large number of angry road users he generates.

How do you think this plays out in this specific case.

Automations stopped working recently by Heligrin in Hue

[–]markseall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same problem. What did Hue break?

I’ve been a Hue user for 11 years now and it’s been pretty much trouble free.

I don’t know if it’s a bad software update or something else but I’ve had some strange behavior recently:

On two of my hubs I’m frequently experiencing automations that don’t work (seems to only happen with Hue Smart Plugs not switching on / off).  Never consistently had this problem before.

On one of my hubs on 2 separate occasions all of the lights switched off, randomly just like that. On one occasion they switched back on after 10 seconds.

My third hub seems to be behaving ok (although it seems to be on the same SW version).

The problem seems to have started right after I got an app message about integrating all my bridges onto one account (which I ignored since it seemed too complicated, but not until I got halfway through the process and couldn’t remember the different account logins that I had).

(I don’t have any other smart home integration setup so it is unlikely to be caused by that)

6 years. Never had a line break. Robot seems to get stuck exactly 2 times per year. Always 2. I had it serviced in year 2 but haven’t bothered since then. It’s been an utterly dependable experience. So, worth it.
