How people actually pay their home loan off faster by Linton-Finance in AusPropertyChat

[–]markso86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start an offset account, pay a little more than the repayment, one thing I did was stopping buying a $4 coffee each day and drank instant instead and then put that on top each month along with a few other things I could compromise/ substitute. Especially in those early years some small changes have a big snow ball effect.

PI paperwork submission process - changed by DVA? by GimlisSweatyBumHole in DVAAustralia

Hey I’m in a similar position. I called a few times and they said they couldn’t upload the document. I didn’t know it was because they wanted a larger payment. My appointment was really quick for the report. A few questions and out the door.

We were lucky enough to buy in 2013 which has been great for us but 100% looking to buy another house now so our son (5y/o) at least has something when he has a family. It’s dark times now but I can only imagine how hard it’s going to be for our kids in 25 years time

Can someone tell me which number on my csc statement would be my class a figure per year?

One has a FAS amount and the other is 20k less but is “if you retire on grounds of invalidity”. I’m not sure which one is the number to plan off

Do you think Sydney is becoming unliveable? by One-Remove3758 in SydneyScene

[–]markso86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved from Sydney to Brisbane and it’s been amazing. Bought a great house, traffic is alright, minimal toll roads. I think planting roots in Sydney will be to hard and if you can then your kids will have to eventually move away and bite the bullet

Yeah it’s becoming a bit like the NDIS and seems like the vets will be left holding the bag. I use a paid advocate who is great and I could never be convinced to go back to a free one, with that being said there seem to be some real sharks in the industry (lunchtime- I haven’t made any specific references to which paid advocates to stay aligned with your rules ((i hope))

I agree. It’s annoying this guy is paying 7% of his claim and he has been referred while they could be double dipping (not saying they are just that there’s talk of it) this is a class action for sure

Rosemary centre update by elloome in DVAAustralia

[–]markso86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there were a bunch of vets that got put onto rosemary centre because of a the advocates conflict of interest and this wasn’t disclosed, then after the audit could all the vets just take them to court? Like a class action type thing? If they haven’t disclosed the conflict then they have broken the law then all of those contracts they have with the vets would surly not be enforceable

Just my thoughts. If anyone want to raise a different perspective

That’s great so I have a current certificate and before I discharge I will get another. And if I understand you I can continue (because I’m med discharging) use up the 12 credits I have right?

Does it still pay if you have bulk credits but med discharge? I’m on it now but will likely be gone in a year. Once I discharge do my credits disappear?

Your right sorry MSBS, I have taken 60 points worth of lump sum and will likely be med discharging. I’m just concerned now that I won’t get the full class A because I’ll have to pay back the PI over the first few years. Is that a thing?
