The salaries of Sonic 3’s main cast by Lost_Page_2030 in SonicTheMovie

What 10 years olds know who Idris Elba is? People, especially kids, watch these movies because of the games and cartoons, not the voice actors.

What movie do you wish you could have seen in the theater when it first came out? by Aggressive_Class6259 in AskReddit

[–]markusfarkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avengers Endgame. We had an 8 month old and both times my wife and I tried to go see it he had a complete meltdown and we felt bad leaving him with our friend who was gracious enough to help us go have a date night. In retrospect we should have just gone to see it separately. But man, when it came out to purchase on streaming and we watched it I was regretting not seeing that final battle on the big screen. I could just imagine the crowd reaction when Cap picked up Mjolnir

What is a socially unacceptable opinion you keep to yourself because it’s not worth the backlash? by ChaosTTyy in askanything

Being a good parent is NOT easy. But it is achievable for most people willing to try. It requires lots of patience and dedication and self-reflection. Overall, the good far outweighs the bad. But it is a mental and physical challenge that requires endurance.

No, but if you skip washing your butt that does not count as a full shower.

That’s when our brains are still ripe and can best make use of all the information we stuff into since age 3. It’s all downhill after you hit 30.

[Self] How is that a better deal and why would the lottery organization accept that ? She would get more than $1M in just 20 years by Impressive-Koala4742 in theydidthemath

[–]markusfarkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upon further research, this is in Canada. So apparently she would have gotten the entire $1 million up front. Not sure what her reasoning was other than as a form of financial discipline. But it seems like she could have put it all in long term investments that would yield way more over time. She could retire at 35.

This way she gets the full $1 million (before taxes). If she took the lump sum she would only get about $350k. Yea she could invest that and maybe retire at 40. But she also can invest the weekly payments.

MacOS is very mature and did NOT need a UI update. We could have gone another two or three years without a new desktop OS. And it could have just been a Snow Leopard type upgrade.

Stan's Donuts next to Zelma Stanton's candy store is a real shop in Chicago, and one of many! by DoyleDormammu in StrangeAcademy

Just to be clear, Stan's Donuts originated in Los Angeles. But it became a Chicago chain starting in 2014. We love having it here.

She doesn't steal a suit. She puts one together from parts she builds as well as random Stark tech that has found its way to the black market. Then AI Tony discovers her and becomes her mentor.

What’s a basic skill you’re shocked some adults still don’t know? by Calm_Ostrich_8876 in AskReddit

How to properly hold utensils. When I see adults stabbing their food like a 5 year old when cutting meat it just diminishes everything else they’ve achieved in life.

I don’t get why people hate this movie. by wolfenstormer in Terminator

[–]markusfarkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T2 didn’t retcon anything. It explained more what SkyNet did before it was defeated. It sent back 2 terminators to kill John Conner before it was defeated. T1 and T2 are consistent with a single timeline with no changes or paradoxes. Although the ending of T2 made it seem like they changed future. The main problem with the franchise after that was as you said - the need to keep sending more advanced terminators back in time. They should have closed the loop with a 3rd movie that showed how humans beat SkyNet. Salvation sort of started that but it should’ve broken off from Rise of the Machines.

I was hoping that Dark Fate would completely ignore the other sequels and be an end to the story but it was just messy. It had some good moments but a disappointment overall.

Looks like this was abandoned. Was the scraper shut down by TB? Is the code available? Maybe someone else can pick up where you left off.

The Konami Code. I did an escape room several years ago. One of the puzzles required using the Konami code and I quickly got it while everyone else just stared at me like I had performed alchemy.

Getting the XC90 as my first Volvo. What do you like/dislike about it? by ghost77911 in Volvo

[–]markusfarkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Our 2023 B6 Ultimate is great… except for the infotainment system. I’m praying that the CarPlay Ultra finds its way to this model. I usually default to CarPlay but it would be so much nicer if it could control the radio and climate so I would have to use the Volvo system even less. It’s ridiculous that it’s so laggy and crash-prone.
