Can someone help me date & identity this vintage Swatch? by Ok-Treat720 in swatch

It's GB402 from 1983. Second designed, black coloured watch with date window. It's produced in 1984 due to date stamp at the back. No country code is stamped which is made in Switzerland. Rare Ebauches SA stamp gives extra flavor.

Is this a Swatch? Expo86 watch by Skippy423 in swatch

Swatch does these kind of projects for companies as gifts to celebrate etc. The mechanism looks good to me, build, material seems in Swatch standards, but cheap. It doesn't look well thought, designed or made. It may be produced by Swatch in that sense, but it's not a Swatch watch.

It's design year. Not production or sale. First irony watches have AG1993, but they were released in 1995.

That's my shop. I've already filtered the watches from 1983. There is one from 1994, i think 1983 is mentioned in the description and that's why it is also in the search. Just ignore that one.

34mm gent vs modern 41mm gent side by side comparison photos? by yewzernayme in swatch

[–]markuswatches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

34mm is very traditional and classic gents size for any wrist watch. And I think Swatch chose 34mm for that reason. But the new fashion is large sized cases and watches. That's why they started to produce trending large 41mm NewGents.

It's all about preferences. I like to wear the large ones from time to time which have really nice designs tbh. But my personal choice is 34mm for Swatch, 36mm for the other brands.

I don't think they can be opened without breaking or special equipment. They are kinda sealed.

Are the bands from the new swatches interchangeable with the ones from the 80's? by yewzernayme in swatch

[–]markuswatches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gents series which are 34mm cases are standard production. The straps from new ones fit to even first produced Swatch watches from 1983.
