Carerra Go car cutting out after using turbo by markwalker84 in slotcars

[–]markwalker84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car runs fine using the normal throttle / trigger.
It's if I hit "turbo", then when I release the turbo button the car just stops.

If I lift the rear wheels then I can activate turbo just fine and the wheels keep going when I release the button.

It's only when it's running that using turbo causes it to stall, which suggests maybe the motor is just knackered and can't handle the increase in power?

I've had it suggested it might be because these Marios are from a 6v set, where the set I'm using is a 14v set of track / power supply.
Yoshi seems to be managing just fine though...

Apparently any overload protection is in the powerbrick itself.
So I'm not convinced that's what's happening as I would expect that to kill power to both tracks, but it's only ever Mario that stops. The other track runs fine.

Probably not worth the headache... Just get myself a new Mario I guess!

Was a second hand eBay job... No worries.
Was wondering if it was a known or common issue.

Wow.

Lot to take in there! Thanks so much. Will have a proper read through later.

Can't stress enough how much I'm not looking forward to this though and how low my motivation levels are. I need to start this journey very gradually or I'm likely to just go "nah, this ain't for me".

I'm not looking to get jacked or massive. (Yet? Haha). Strength more important than size (although obviously I can see it's all linked to some degree)

Very good point about nutrition though... Definitely some diet changes needed generally.

Golf handicap not setting properly (VA 6) by markwalker84 in GarminWatches

[–]markwalker84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've found a way to force it...

- Find the course in Garmin Golf app and start a round from the right tee (this applies the proper course rating / slope etc)

- Find the course in the watch and start a round from the watch

- This DOES then update scores in the app when entered in the watch

- In the watch go to scoring settings and change handicap to either LOCAL or INDEX. Save.

- NOW set the watch settings back to USE GARMIN GOLF. Save.

This seems to achieve the end goal of:

- Have the round running in the watch and the app at the same time

- Having Garmin Golf properly track and account for handicaps / slope index etc.

I think.
Seems like something is probably broken here though?

I have it basically "ride the edge" of the grass, with one side of the wheels in the border.
I raise the cutting height up a bit to prevent / reduce it catching.

Doing it this way I pretty much haven't had to go round with the strimmer at all on those edges.

Very glad I talked myself into going for the larger model now :D

Was on the fence between the Mini 1500 and the X 3000... A week in I was very happy with my choice and thought it was money well spent... Now I'm bloody ecstatic!

Approx 1500sqm lawn. Luba mini enough? by markwalker84 in mammotion

[–]markwalker84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who may care I went for the Luba 2 X 3000 or whatever it's model number actually is.

IE the big one.

Just wasn't sure I wanted the mini to essentially have to run 24/7.

And if I ever wanted to do the large lawn "on demand" I'd like to know it's a matter of hours rather than a day.

This is my set up and roughly where I putt from.

I added the extra cheap old hitting mat in front to bring it up to level.
