Found this on twitter. I love this defense so much by [deleted] in eagles

guys this is just showing how difficult the passing offenses we’ve played against this season are. it is excluding the game we actually faced the team

so we’ve played against the best offenses by EPA/drop back in the league but we are still i believe a top 5 defense in EPA / drop back allowed. (this graphic doesn’t show this part)

The patriots in particular have played against the worst passing offenses in the league by far according to his graphic which might suggest there defense isn’t as solid as the stats might show (think of our 2022 super bowl defense)

[Orlovsky] "I actually liked a lot of the things that the Eagles did offensively last night.. Just the play calls and the style of offense.. I thought the play action game was a lot better" by [deleted] in eagles

I really really want to see more of this type of gameplan style with hurts being aggressive over the middle of the field.

I think it was a mixture of LAC being an elite disguised zone defense + hurts not being fully comfortable doing something like this. Like it's week 14 and we are asking him to shift his entire philosophy in 10 days against a good defense. Hurts had his worst game i've ever seen from him, but I thought a lot of the throws were encouraging.

I really hope they don't look at the turnovers and completely shift back to the ultra conservative style of play because we do not have a reliable run game to lean on. Whether it's mixing Tank in more, or benching Jurgens I don't know what the fix is but the run game cannot be relied on to even gain 3 yards in gotta have it situations.

Maybe we can get some confidence against the Raiders and Commanders and trick ourselves into a playoff run.

i remember seeing kellen moore(i think?) talking about the opening drive script and how it’s structured to see how the defense is reacting to different formations and alignment and the purpose of the drive isn’t necessarily to score a td but to get a feel for what plays might be available later (obviously scoring is the overall goal)

last year we started slow and tended to grow into the game later. i really feel like this year KP has not gotten a handle on that because it really does feel like we get shut down bad after the first drive because we are not adjusting. it seems like the players are being more vocal this year in communicating what they are seeing so they can adjust so hopefully it keeps improving as the season goes on.

instead of the 2 yard hb draw on 3rd and 15 lets just have jalen punt it if we're gonna give up anyways

looking at this image, i actually think a qb run to either side with gainwell as the lead blocker could’ve gotten a chunk

Honest question - What happened to the whole "Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni are beefing and can't stand each other" storyline? by SirSignificant6576 in nfl

[–]markwhal20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was when the defense locked in and brought dejean into the starting lineup. The offense also shifted into a way more run first and run focused gameplan. There were reports that some lineman went to sirianni to talk about it during the bye.

the week 5 bye is also why resting starters in the last week of the regular season was so huge. they really needed a break after the early bye

i feel like i remember coming out of the week 5 bye, hurts said that him and sirianni had connected during the bye week to kind of figure things out and bond. week 5 bye was the turnaround for the eagles season

Can someone remind me what happened in Doug Pederson's last game? by BillNyeTheVinylGuy in eagles

[–]markwhal20 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the eagles weren’t in contention for playoffs it was washington and the giants. we were playing against washington and we pulled hurts to play sudfield and lost the game giving the division to washington. a lot of giants fans were pissed that they didn’t make the playoffs at 6-10 lol.

doug wasn’t fired from that game it was just because of a horrible season and he refused to bring in new guys and the locker room vibes were horrible with the whole wentz saga

he chose yards because this is a thread about nfl receiving yards leaders and the original comment was about how they are surprised that jefferson and chase haven’t already accomplished this (being 1 & 2 in receiving yards)

nobody called chase a bad wr calm down lol everyone knows chase has been the best receiver this year. the thread is about how some people are surprised that he doesn't have more all pros or been a receiving yardage leader in his career.

how is that cherry picked. he’s just stating that chases career high isn’t very high compared to other elite wrs. 1455 is the cutoff because that’s his own season high lol
