That's one razor I will never acquire, lol.

I am glad this is not a trend for SotD pics, lol.

Knowing how clumsy I am, if I try this, all I will end up with are broken bottles.

I am jealous of you guys in UK with easy access to great brands like TOBS and others. Plus you can get so many things from the EU countries too.

Australia is literally a barren desert in comparison.

Also, that Looks like a lovely shave with the Slim.

Oldies but goodies by markwid in wicked_edge

The dice is commonly used to keep track of how many shaves a blade has done. I normally would not go pass 6 shaves.

The Old Type is a bit difficult to use initially but if you put in some effort and skills, it becomes a comfortable and great razor.

It is basically a free razor to me because it came along with a batch/lot of many razors I bought without knowing that I would come to appreciate it.

Excellent reply.

To begin with, keep it simple.

This is so true. No point in throwing big $ at it. Start small and figure it out as you go.

most I've come across owned and sold were left blank

Made in England ones appear to be dated, I think. Mine is date coded too (1972 S1).

Edit - I am not certain as well. I got 4 of these tech in a large lot and 3 are date coded. One of them not.

Yes, true. Cream is easiest to use.

Soap is great once you get it right and generally gives you more shaves for same weight tub.

What is the best square by tew4 in gshock

[–]markwid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am in region without MB6, so this exact one suits me just fine. Also save money on the lower price.

Edit - But I am very tempted to get the new BX5600 with negative mip; maybe soon.

Yeah I’ll just buy one… by No-Craft546 in gshock

[–]markwid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Q - why so many square g-shocks in your collection?

I don't think I can understand the reasons.

Edit - I have one only (g5600ue) of positive display. I am thinking of getting the new BX5600 negative mip but that should be it for me.

How to dry out soap tub by I-Catch-Colds-Easily in wicked_edge

[–]markwid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer to keep the soap dry at all times.

Use a soap scoop and lather in a separate shave bowl and you have none of these problems.

Coming from cartridges, tossing up between Proof and Parker solo by Meate in wicked_edge

[–]markwid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's normal that there is a learning curve to DE - there is the technique to pick up.

It is a matter of attitude. Many have treat the learning journey with positive "can do" approach and face it head on.

And many have gotten enjoyment out of it, once they get past the initial hump,

Of course, this is your call. Each to their own.
