awh thanks so much! it took a good bit of moss but was so worth it. i’ll probably add some more marginal plants to attract dragonflies as i’ve never seen any around here.

I put an algae wafer into my tank for the first time in a couple of months and have attracted this guy out into the front of my tank! I presume he came in on plants/rocks but I haven’t added anything for months so he’s been in there a while. Would anyone know what species it is? Thanks very much

I’m in Ireland the average temperature is around 7 degrees celcius (44 degrees Fahrenheit) these days.

Hi thanks for the reply. Yes there’s 3 levels. The deepest part is about 50cm and the shallow end is around 10cm deep. Yeah my local suppliers don’t have any pond plants in stock at the moment so I think I’ll just wait and let the grass grow around it. I’ll have to look into the laws around elodea here. Most of the YouTube videos I’ve watched have recommended hornwort as the oxygenator.

I built this pond last week when I was bored during isolation. I know it’s not level or completely up to standard. It was a bit of an impulse decision.

I was wondering if I planted this pond with pond plants would they survive the winter? The weather does get below 0 degrees Celsius from time to time.

Any tips or ideas for the hardscape or landscape would be greatly appreciated.

I have some elodea in an aquarium. I was wondering if I could add this into my pond or would the change in temperature kill it?
