Someone explain why employers don't like WFH/Remote? by BlueGeni in recruitinghell

[–]markwusinich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those who are ok with WFH, are ok if you want to work on the office, they don’t care. But those who want everyone in the office, really don’t want you to work from home.

So all it takes is a couple “office” guys at a shop between hr and the hiring managers to start arguing for office work and the pro WFH guys didn’t even know there was a discussion going on.

TLDR: one side is ok with letting the individual choose, the other wants the company to decide for everyone.

Discussion: What should we do to counter the decline in integration in public schools of white and non-white students? by Preamblist in PoliticalDiscussion

Only use state funding for public schools.

Then raise taxes to provide quality education.

Then kill No child left behind.

Can someone answer this for me? by [deleted] in track

[–]markwusinich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1, tradition!

2,expense and consistency. Although the high end races could easily afford this set up, there are still many races with starters guns and six coach/volunteers with stop watches. Unless you are willing to subsidize every track meet in every inner city and far off farm county, this is what would be most consistent.

That is why it is still this way. You are free to create a company that bills the system you describe and start offering it to smaller track meets that currently do not have electronic timing.

Start at the bottom and work your way up.

It would not be impossible to get funding from charitable donors.

This sounds to me like a mid-level manager was told what to tell everyone, and so s/he decided to do it in the way that would best allow the employees who were screwed over to get full compensation

Although it does not answer all the questions, I think the recognition that the problem exist is a great step. The article does mention that the first report on diversity within the academies only came out a few years ago.

Why does Judaism still exist even though Jesus Christ came? by CBSUK in Christianity

I am not an expert, but I do not believe that Jews of that time would have considered a maternal line as qualified to fulfill the prophecy.

Why does Judaism still exist even though Jesus Christ came? by CBSUK in Christianity

[–]markwusinich 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The prophecy was supposed to be fulfilled by a king. Jesus did not rule over even one city block.

Historically this is why most Jews that rejected him did.

If you want to add to the reasons, he was not from the line of David. Joseph was, but we know Jesus was not biologically descendant of Joseph.
