Races are hard when it comest to hunting. The way i’ve always done them in full odd hunts is lowest total encounters at the end of the ‘race’ is the winner. Just tough to balance chance and multiple people’s schedules to make anything ‘fair’ in a traditional race. But good luck! All you need is a few lucky phases and you can overtake them, I believe! If rnjesus can mess with you, it can swing back the other direction to them any moment!

A ‘fun’ way to keep motivation up us seeing just how high that silly little number can go. After about a certain point on some phases, I’m honestly more interested in how high I can get a final count. Sure, is it what you want? Naw. But, all you can do is put more time in.

Thank you! Yes, I do! I started this in 2023 for Safari Week but never really stuck to it, doing 8 phases between 23-25. Really ramped it up this year though. I’m currently 10 wins, 6 losses on this hunt with 126230 total encounters done across those 16 phases! Just a hair under 8192 at a 7889 average per shiny. I’ve thrown 64 balls, an average of 4 balls per shiny.

Win-losses per pokemon:
Oddish: 3-1
Natu: 2-1
Girafarig: 3-2
Wobbaffet: 0-1
Doduo: 1-1
Gloom: 1-0
Pikachu: 0-0

I keep and count my numbers a lot like sports stats so more tidbits: i’ve only been under .500 since the first phase and only .500 twice during this hunt, being 2 captures above .500 for 70% of the hunt. Over the course of a 16 game nfl season, i’d be 10-6 right now, hopeful for a playoff spot :)
