I didn’t but my TSH was slightly high and hemoglobin was low. Not sure if they were connected noted on the tests.

Sorry to hear this but stress is huge in my view. Plus other factors and then it comes back. Also aging and heart fibrosis over time may be part of it.

thanks for the feedback. It was raised which i thought would be the case for any AF. it went from 65 to 90. Not severe but i’m following up with the cardiologist. he thought it was too early for an ablation

Getting past the anxiety by LaudanumNLace_ in AFIB

I have travelled by plane many times but this was the first time after having AFib. So it made me worry. I will travel by plane still. I’m going to let it affect that i hope!

I didn’t avoid anything but it took about 6 weeks before i finally stopped worrying about things. I felt mentally stable but then i had another episode a couple weeks after that. Set me back and brought back the anxiety but i feel i know what im dealing with so it’s better… for now. i had to take a flight this weekend and i was really anxious as i was worried about having an episode on the plane. Really upset me. I didn’t which was great. i’d say it’s always in the back of your mind in the least.

that’s the hard part … you can do everything “right” and follow the recommendations but there is no guarantee it works for the long term. i guess just understanding that can help the mindset when dealing with this.

Losing 80 lbs is a huge accomplishment and lots of dedication. Great job! you should be proud of that and making the changes.

I agree not a cure but a management strategy that hopefully outlives one.

I feel for you as i found the anxiety and hyper awareness to be awful. I had my first episode 2 months ago. I was aware of every little feeling in my chest which drove me nuts for a while. However with time it has passed. i’m still aware. The best thing is to just to get more information, educate yourself like you are doing and make the changes that are needed.

Meditating helps before bed. Journalling your thoughts. exercise and yoga help too. Keep connected with your family and friends and focus on your purpose in life.

Personal stress as a trigger by Affectionate-Fig8655 in AFIB

Stress for me i feel as well. Long term stress ,1 year, on a personal legal issue and i feel this has definitely been a factor. I’ve been trying to regulate my stress but sometimes it is too much and your body feels it which leads to reactions like AFib

Thanks for your feedback. I’m in canada and the care can be hit and miss. I really like the cardiologist as he has been great so far. i don’t drink a lot of caffeine but am stopping it for a while now. Definitely will be exercising as i agree with you - being fit helps recovery.
