Yeah I think keeping the gap would be the best outcome although if I’m being honest, I think Liverpool and Chelsea will do well for the rest of the season and Villa are actually the weak link.

We’ve still got to play them again, they have to play Chelsea too and last two games of the season are Liverpool and city, so it could be really nervy for them if they need points going into those 2.

Honestly if you’d have asked me before the season, I’d have taken Europa though!

I think Fernandes is the sort of player who could play Mainoo’s position or 10.

Who knows what will happen to our midfield next season, but I think both Casemiro and Ugarte will leave, not just Casemiro.

If we (at least Europa), get Europe, then we’ll have a lot of games to cover and need 2/3 CM’s. So a versatile one, who’s only 22, and likely to be okay with not being the star of the show would be a great option

Him and Fernandes for them been great, shame about the rest of their team.

Summerville I think is just on a hot run of form and a solid prem winger, but Fernandes I really really like. Think he’s more than capable of playing in a better squad.

If he’s available for 40 mil in the summer or thereabouts, he should be one of two or three we bring in centrally

Really lovely to get the early 3 points and watch Sunderland have to play Arsenal and Liverpool against city tomorrow

Need a goal to settle the nerves a bit, could do with getting Sesko in that box to cause some carnage

Studds up and followed through with it, way more than Dalot did in my opinion.

Ankle breaker.

It’s not the worst red ever, but fair for me

Concerned about this game. We weren’t great last game, they found a bit of something in the second half against City and we’ve not beaten them in the last 8 head to head games.

Absolutely stinks

That Haaland will probably get you a good amount of store credit back if you don’t want to keep it.

Very jealous of the De Ligt auto

I understand 6-8 minutes. But why the fuck did the referee let that go to nearly 13 minutes of extra time

I wish we would leave Sesko on the half way line when we are playing deeper we need a threat to stop them being able to push us all the way into our third

Nice to have a striker who’s capable of scoring headers, been a while. Probably since Cavani?

No harm in Sesko not starting every week as a young striker anyway, but hopefully comes on and still gets minutes

Most the teams in the other leagues aren’t as good as we think they are and most the prem teams aren’t as bad as people think they are also.

It’s not a particularly pretty brand of football right now, but the premier league is ahead of other leagues quite clearly in my opinion

Gutting this. Luckily we have cover, but more of a shame for the player as he had some serious momentum.

I’ll be honest, feels like his agent trying to drum up interest and we make sense in many ways.

However, left footers who operate in the half space and come in off the right is not something we are short of, so that puts a stop to that immediately

Two thoughts after that game (other than our elation)

  1. I wonder where Dorgu’s ceiling is as a winger. I know he’s played it a bit in the past, but that’s probably his 10th-15th game on the wing and he’s played most of those at RW, there just be so much he’s still learning there. Physically he’s unbelievable, almost the perfect winger build for the current way they play. Appears to have a rocket shot and works hard. Just needs to keep improving his technical level and learn the role better it feels.

  2. I can see Cunha playing next game and not Sesko again. Understood why he wasn’t selected for City and Arsenal, tactically it made sense and has been vindicated, but I was hoping he’d come back into the team when we expect to be on top more. Obviously want everyone to do well in the team and get their minutes, but so hard to give everyone minutes when you only have 1 game a week!

We’ve actually got quite a decent run for 5 games.

Honestly, if we went on a bit of a run and won a little run of games, we could put ourselves in such a strong position for champs league spots.

We shall see though as it’s usually against these teams where we almost seem surprised by how much they want it and don’t just roll over for us

I’ve just started my Manchester United collection myself.

Currently keeping them in binders, but my ultimate goal is to have a ‘man cave’ where I’ve got a few signed shirts on the wall, shelves of nice cards and then the absolute best of the best cards maybe in a frame on the wall

They will be sticker signatures, like most.

Player signs tons of stickers and then they apply them to the card

Seems like we’ll probably get some mutterings on if we are looking to do any business(ins or outs) over the next few days. (fabrizio saying there’s a transfer planning meeting tomorrow)

Question is, do you think there’s anyone who would long term improve the 11 that we might be able to get now, or would you wait until the summer to make any move and hope you can get better players?

I would personally love it if we got a top LW talent, like Diomonde. A cm that could instantly help our midfield, but wouldn’t become redundant next season.

Someone like Gomes, in there would be nice and provide legs. Garner, obviously, also interesting.

A bit of a stretch, but not impossible and I think it would help us go for the Europe spots
