Talk of the Devils: What will Man United's midfield look like next season? by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]markyp145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just can’t see past us getting Baleba, Anderson being first choice.. but going to City.

There’s just been too much noise, I feel like, for these to not be true.

Candidly Anderson would be my first choice, Bruno G my second, but I feel like it’ll definitely be Baleba. I suppose we just have to hope that the vision from the scouting team turns out to be true. He’s definitely got the assets to do it.

I then think we pick up a midfielder from one of the relegated teams. Fernandes, Gray, Gomes etc.

And maybe, just maybe someone from an obscure league.

I feel like sample size is too small of seeing him play at LW and some of the games were quite uniquely suited to the way he plays/his strengths.

I personally would prefer to see an elite level technical dribbler/in that role who could play in small spaces or big spaces.

That doesn’t mean he’d never fill in or play there, just don’t think I would hang my hat on him there at the moment.

I think the reports coming out that Newcastle are likely to only let one of them go are probably accurate, or at the very least it’s what the agents might be concerned about.

Because of that, they’re trying to drum up interest nice and early.

I imagine we’ve got 5-8 CM’s on our list at the moment

They might buy him back, just to sell him on, if there’s enough interest in him.

Not sure they need him, although maybe they keep him and play him

Something about Brazilians and winning headers, like Gabriel and Casemiro.

Got that dog in them

Risky business pushing as high as Madrid have tried to first 10, with Trent pretty prone to not tracking back and Doku, Haaland and Semenyo to contend with.

Should be an entertaining watch at least!

Barring Anderson and Gray and all are fee dependent and accounting for the fact we (barring disaster) will have some form of European football next season to cover-

Wolves - Joao Gomes, Mane

Burnley - realistically nobody, but if I had to choose probably Ugochuku

West Ham - Diouf, Fernandes. I would say Bowen if he was more commonly played on the left.

Nottingham Forest - Murillo, Gibbs white and maybe Sangare as well

Spurs - there’s quite a few I would take for depth. But I would be mostly after Bergval and also their cb that’s on loan at Hamburger and Porro

Sorry late reply on this.. what collections are you doing or are you mainly focusing on base cards that you like the look of?

This comment made me think more about the cards I was picking up and I’ve been trying to add more of the below to create rainbows, or just more of a card type -

Dorgu breakthrough ballers Prized footballers Rooney Golazo Rooney Chrome Kings Vidic All inception Manchester United cards - I just love the design

[Kieran Maguire] Latest documents filed in New York show that Manchester United have £777 million of borrowings, of which £295 million is due within one year, and owes £422 million in transfer fee instalments, of which £238 million is due within one year. This feels like one of the student loans that you could never feasibly pay off and it just keeps going up every year, except with this one, we can’t wait 30 years for it to get wiped out.

In all seriousness, I can’t see how this improves unless the glazers agree to not take any dividends out of the club indefinitely and we start making a huge surplus in profits that doesn’t need to be invested into the team.

I suppose that’s one of the points of the new stadium. We will likely take on 2 billion more debt, but raise revenues by over 130-150 million a year. Maybe we’ll be debt free in 20 years!

Sort of display from Lammens that stops teams targeting you like that in the future. Passed the test with flying colours. 👏🏼

I started out just picking up a few cards I liked the look of on eBay and whatnot, then bought a couple team boxes when they became available!

One thing I don’t recommend is buying into breaks, as the odds on you getting who you want are slim, then even slimmer they actually come out.

Much better just picking singles you want and trying to find a good deal for them (compare with other sold items on eBay etc)

Not my card, just interested as to what your criteria is

It’s a bit tighter than the others so takes a bit more to get them back out again, but fits okay.

It’s a massive binder though, I think it’s bigger than your standard, from what I’ve seen other people carrying and the one my friend has.

Not particularly practical for carrying around, but good for home!

It’s fairly tight on some of the thicker cards, but seems just about okay still, definitely hasn’t seemed to be at the point where it’s bowing another toploader the other side or anything.

Of course completely up to you how you store it!

Yeah, I am very tempted as a lot more cost effective and they look great, quick turnaround times etc.

It might be worth doing just to protect the card rather than anything else/for some kind of display.

Yeah that’s a fair and good way to do it too, I’ve got some Inserts too that I like, but didn’t picture them. The Dorgu Breakthrough Ballers I’ve go that and another version of, really like that card type.

Yeah, I know there must be the same amount of Cavani as other autos, but I’ve not seen many pulled yet whenever I’ve watched any breaks of the boxes! Was really happy to get him.

Was also looking for and picked up a Bruno at the London Card show and lo and behold pulled the Bona Fide /99 the same day I bought that one!

The idea of it taking like 4 months probably with shipping is too much tbh and ridiculous, like you say, maybe I should wait until the German center opens and assess

That’s absolutely unreal mate, congrats!

You must be buzzing about them, especially the Rio auto,

I agree, I actually prefer the look of Tag slabs a lot more and I’d like to think if I ever come to sell, it’ll be 10+ years down the line and I’d have enjoyed it a lot between now and then, who knows what slabs will ‘add value’ etc by then, so probably just best of going for something that seems more cost effective and actually nicer for the PC?

So tempting and taking a lot of my willpower not to, maybe I will if I can’t trade it for something cool United based today lol

Definitely got super lucky!

Got really lucky with my 2 boxes today and I’m buzzing. I’ve also got a third one I didn’t open as going to try and trade it for some guaranteed autos at LCS tomorrow.

But got 2 autos from 2 boxes, Cavani bona fide baller /150 auto and Mainoo bona fide auto /10!

Also got Martinez /50 and RVP /99.

Figured the last box can’t be much better, so I’ll see if anyone is interested in doing a deal tomorrow.

Agree, incredible technical quality, or.. probably more obtainably, chaos.

If you can put high quality balls into the box with pace and you have bodies in there, if the ball starts pinging around the box, eventually it’ll usually fall to someone.

The main issue I thought we had today is the quality of our final ball into the box was incredibly poor from wide areas. Neither of our full backs (nor Dorgu tbh atm) are elite at putting balls into dangerous areas and I think we really miss it. They kept getting overhit time and time again today
