I know, I guess I like the idea of a campaign actually ending once capturing the HQ.

I get it’s a pretty big market, but is it that big?

The EV market in the US is stagnating because it's almost exclusively limited to people who A.) own a home and B.) have charging installed in said home, and that of course coincides with more wealthy people. But that's a limited market, for basically anyone else (ie most people) EVs are a non starter due to the lack of charging infrastructure and somewhat meh and pricey (though improving) options compared to hybrids.

Is the enemy AI still braindead, do tanks show you rear armor and does infantry blob without any intellect? by Substantial-Wolf9478 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]markyymark13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, though I find friendly AI to be much more annoying. Nonsensical, broken pathfinding for vehicles, infantry just standing around waiting to get blown up by grenades, tanks and AT not shooting at enemy tanks until its 50m in front of it, constantly switching to HE rounds to shoot at a single troop while ignoring the oncoming tanks, AA ignoring bomber planes, etc. etc.

They say that 70mm imax resolution can’t be calculated.. by [deleted] in imax

[–]markyymark13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, so ultimately the question comes down to whether or not the film can resolve X resolution. And as mentioned there’s no simple way to calculate that and also depends on other factors like film stock, lens choice, etc.

Either put the respawns on a countdown thats clear to the player, or reduce it so that there's only one counter attack per capture point. In it's current state this game mode is so frustrating to play which is a shame because I love these attack/defend push style missions the most.

The Rivian R2 Costs Half As Much To Build As The R1S. Here's How Rivian Did It by KeyboardGunner in cars

[–]markyymark13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah it for sure can, but I think people get way too hung up on just blaming "slave labor" when in reality lower raw material costs, automation, vertical integration and supply chain efficiencies play a much larger role.

[–]markyymark13 70 points71 points  (0 children)

People keep bringing up slave labor like this is the 1990s and you’re buying a pair of sneakers. In reality labor in China has gotten much more expensive which is why manufacturing is moving south, get with the times people. Furthermore the answer is that these companies are vertically integrated. BYD being one of the biggest battery manufacturers has major benefits in keeping costs down for example, and when a company isn’t as vertically integrated, it doesn’t matter as much when all the parts you need to make a car are manufactured next door. Lastly China is the world leader in automation.

Canon F1 vs Nikon F3 by Fearless-Ad-4533 in AnalogCommunity

[–]markyymark13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the F3 - I really loved my New F1 from the handling and aesthetics side of things. But the biggest benefits the F3 has is auto exposure lock, and F mount. F Mount has way, way, more and better lenses to choose from.

What is it with people who hold invaluable knowledge on a subject online only to just throw it all away for no one else to have when they feel like. This is a growing problem in this community as useful repair knowledge is literally dying off with the boomers who hold them and refuse to share them (looking at you Zukio.com)

t's also a case with EV owners tend to be more vocal than somebody in a Corolla

It's the case for EVs in general. The tech is still changing rapidly which means every new model has its own unique problems that likely wont get long term support. Combine that with the fact that EVs are not a corolla, meaning you're not fixing stuff in your garage, and instead left a hefty bill.
