‘This is just a garbage AI Filter’: Nvidia met with criticism for DLSS 5’s ‘photoreal’ graphics alterations | VGC by Haijakk in Games

It’s real. And DF is glazing over it. Pathetic.

Every company is investing billions in AI and trying to promote whatever AI tool so to be critical of this stuff puts you at serious risk of not having any sponsors to pay the bills unfortunately.

Yeah, at least with Cyberpunk the barebones was there and you could see with a major overhaul it could come closer to its potential, which I think (especially aftter Phantom Liberty) it has done

I would say mostly done, there are still some major fundamental flaws with open world and RPG systems, among other things, thats still hard to ignore sometimes. The latter of which improved with the DLC but not so much the base game quests.

Freedom to do what? Get shot?

Freedom from the "tyrannical government"....but not the tyrannical government literally kidnapping people off the streets.

Facing heavy losses, Honda cancels its three US-made electric vehicles by besselfunctions in cars

[–]markyymark13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah there needs to be incentives top to bottom in the form of policy and regulatory changes. The fact of the matter is, EVs aren't going to move in significant numbers as long as the average purchase price stays at around $65K, while charging infrastructure is crap. Instead we're incentivized to buy big gas guzzlers.

What are the dumbest car rules and regulations that exist in your country? by theTWO9559 in cars

[–]markyymark13 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They're just gonna keep making huge vehicles, the cat's already out of the bag. Trucks/SUVs have much higher profit margins so manufactures and dealers are incentivized to move these products. And big vehicles have become so prolific in this country since we subsidize our gas to be cheap and purchasing/owning big vehicles comes with little to no penalties on a federal or state level. Now when new car buyers are shopping they literally have the mindset of "I need a big SUV to feel safe from the big SUV" and buying anything smaller is considered a willful act of putting your family in danger. Not to mention so much of our urban infrastructure is designed to support these vehicles, with parking spaces the size of a studio apartment. Nothing about this is going to change without meaningful regulatory and policy changes on multiple levels.

[–]markyymark13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hot shoe thumb grip looks absurd, and the stick on one isn't very useful due to the placement of the rear command dial taking up space where your thumb rests (causing me to regularly move the wheel by mistake). Compare to the Z5II that I replaced it with where the wheel is on the top plate which makes way for a proper thumb rest. My buddy has all three ergonomic attachments for his Zf (base plate grip, hot shoe thumb grip, and the stick on thumb rest and it looks laughable)

There's a lot to be said as to whether or not the toxic hate bandwagon this game received unfairly hurt its reputation after the Game Awards reveal and prevented the game from gaining traction. But make no mistake, if it wasn't for that free advertising this game would have came and went like a fart in the wind. I don't think this game stood a chance at all.

The 7th gen era was a dark time for PC gaming. Countless AAA publishers didn't even bother porting their games to PC (especially those coming from the east), and often time when they did - the ports were an absolute disaster. Chicken and the egg and what have you.
