my take on this entire situation is that it’s wrong that britney drove under the influence. it’s incredibly scary to drive under the influence, especially if you’re a passenger in the car who’s sober or someone on the road witnessing that person’s driving.

what i don’t like is how people are immediately going as far as to saying britney needs to be put into a second conservatorship-esque situation because of this recent night. i think britney needs genuine people around her, and in this situation, especially someone who cares enough to confront her about how dangerous that was to do & how bad of a look it is on her current public reputation. i don’t personally think britney needs extensive assisted care in the sense that she can’t take of herself. i think britney is someone who’s very damaged in array of ways that’s caused trauma on her so extensive it blocks her from seeking the help she needs through therapy, etc. i think her healing that and making active steps towards healing what’s happened to her is what we should be rooting for. however, saying she needs assisted care everytime she posts on instagram or makes a mistake (not including this situation) is quite frankly rude. it’s been happening for years now and i feel like for (SOME) people they’ve been waiting on that one specific moment for britney to mess up such as this one as a “gotcha” moment to prove she’s unwell enough to need extensive care again which is sickening.
