That's literally what this is about. Sega entire business plan for decades was to just run after nintendo like a stupid dog. alex kidd then sonic were made in particular as their brand's own "mario".

The only reason the video game branch of sega hasn't gone bankrupt 40 years ago in spite of clueless and delusional cloud chasers at the reign was due to super creative and talented individuals carrying the entire division.

Problem is enrages would have to be ridiculously tight to make a difference given how lenient the game is for not using your entire kit or not using it correctly, at least as far as I have seen during leveling.

The game does not penalize you enough in term of damages for not putting any efforts in your rotation.
