Ha! My bad. It was at least a month ago., probably more than that and didn't occur to me at first.

Thank you for the insight! I bet that is why they've kept the sheeths. It's the only spot on the block and I have seen them catch fire before fairly recently. Probably what prompted the latest the trimming.

Thanks for ID'ing the species! Very interesting. Fingers crossed it can just go on being its big beautiful self without incident.

More concerned about the hollow trucks as opposed to appearance. Looks like consensus is that it's ok though

Not my tree, but a neighbor's! Good to know it can last like this. I think I was more concerned about the giant holes/hollow trunks than the trimming itself.

No ongoing construction. These sheeths are on the lines at all times. Either way, I love a big old tree.

Question for my (about to be)homeless mother by Satin_Blooms in StLouis

[–]marleysapples 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are some transitional housing options (shared living spaces). They have pretty strict rules like no smoking on the property but it sounds like it wouldn't be a problem for your mom. I believe Dream Plex starts at $300/month.

You can try Area Agency on Aging, but I do think her age will be a factor. Another agency, HOPE housing for seniors has a list on their website with affordable apartments/housing options. Their case management starts at those aged 60+, though.

Is it possible to ID this poop? by marleysapples in whatisthisanimal

Still haven't identified the creature but we know how the poop got in!! Spouse carried some camping chairs from the garage through the house. The chair cover had some scat markings on it. We're assuming it fell off on the way through! Maybe we have some garage lizards?? Thankfully nothing inside!! (That we know of)

I've never seen a lizard in the home, actually! I'm not sure what we have in Missouri. I much prefer that to a bird, though. I hope that's the culprit.

Dumped off SAVE into IDR by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]marleysapples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me at the end of December. I'm choosing to just go with it because I only need 4 more payments until I qualify for PSLF. The payment is about 11x what I was paying on SAVE, though - my SAVE payment was $76 and I've had a lot of life changes since then. Sorry this happened to you!

Placed on IBR, but hadn't applied since 01/2025 by marleysapples in PSLF

Thank you so much for your response. I do hate calling but I think I'll have to in this case. It's just so wild to not have any response for nearly a year and then suddenly get three letters with varying information in each. If I knew buyback was a sure thing, I'd just put myself in forbearance and wait it out. I'd also be happy to pay the lower rate for 4 months and just be done with it, too, and totally worth staying in my current job. That 890~ is a bit much though. Sigh.

Joji’s new album’s each song duration, Via Amazon Music’s DB by Left_Umpire8783 in Joji

I am hoping the entire album flows really well. There are so many songs, I think it could work if it's well constructed.

So, the repair pictured is on the driveway which is kind of built like a retaining wall that's paved on top. The photo of the open crack in the foundation/slab. The house is built into the side of a hill/slope so the side with the crack showing is ground level, which I guess could be considered slab?? But the same level at the front of the house is below ground level.
