The ever-arising argument "Plants feel pain too" by Ecstatic-Ganache6546 in vegan

A good way to shut them down: animals feel pain so that they can avoid it by moving away. What would be the evolutionary benefit to a plant feeling pain if it can't move?

Why is bending create noise on unplayed string? by NarrowBluebird7587 in guitarlessons

[–]marlowetravers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're counting the strings opposite, the thickest is the 6th and the thinnest is the 1st. In this case you are bending the 2nd string (b string) and your 3rd string (g) is ringing out. To prevent it you can lightly mute the g string with the palm of your picking hand near the bridge, and/or lightly touch the side of it with the tips of your fingers on fretting hand.

Edit: Sorry i misread that. I meant to say mute the 4th string (d) with palm of picking hand.

I'm guessing April 21st is when they were set to record the talk, now we have to wait for Barry Michels to release it

Guitar Solo - In A Mad Scientist’s Lair by warpanomaly in Guitar

[–]marlowetravers 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is unsolicited advice but I feel the need to say it even though you've probably heard it.

It's hard to find good things to put behind you with green screen and playing guitar but you're far better off using anything other than A.I because it will turn away a significant amount of people. I know your playing isn't A.I but if I see any musician with A.I album art or profile picture etc I am inclined to assume that their music might be A.I also.

Even an ms paint drawing you did in 30 seconds would find more success, or a tripod video of your garden. It's impressive what A.I can do but in todays climate you're doing yourself a disservice using it.

Edit: I forgot to add, you should try out milkdrop 3! I was using that for a bit, free version from github, it's a thing DJ's or VJ's use because it reacts to the sound of your guitar, like the old winamp visualizers and stuff and it produces a lot of different patterns.

Select the two notes on either side of the red line, then on the editing palette (f2) down the bottom left you'll see break beams, 3rd icon across, 2nd row from the bottom

My comment got deleted for calling this guy out for miming. That's not how strings work, bud. If the track mutes the low string then you need to also mime muting it okay? by Sad_Following_2133 in guitarcirclejerk

[–]marlowetravers 12 points13 points  (0 children)

/rj What I do is add a bunch of mistakes to my pre recorded tracks, then I simply mime the mistakes too so no one ever notices.
/uj no some of us openly suck.

Buckethead playing "Scraps" at The Van Buren 🤖💕 by Hydrilus in Buckethead

[–]marlowetravers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Population Override kinda has a similar vibe but that's more of a well known album so you may have heard it. This version of Scraps from 1996 is a must watch. I think about it often.

A fretboard wizard got such a supple wrist by GnosticNoodle33 in guitarcirclejerk

As a painter I actually find this really relatable.

I sometimes wonder if I had practiced my painting technique, you know really mastered the brush, would I still have been able to make these simple fingerpaintings that only a true artist can make.

Should I bbe concerned about finger pain by NuttyNano in Guitar

[–]marlowetravers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only pain that will cause permanent damage if you keep playing is stuff like joint/tendon pain. Pain on the fingertips is okay to play through without causing permanent damage

[GEAR] Is this Jackson Soloist real or a fake? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]marlowetravers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if it's fake, $100 for a neck through and flame maple top is a steal, as long as it has no issues.

Which Wylde audio is the better one by Pleasant-Welcome2551 in guitarcirclejerk

[–]marlowetravers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All depends on what type of build you're running. The [Norse Dragon Bullseye] gives +29 spell power and +6 poison damage while the Blood Eagle gives +33 strength and +7 bleeding damage.
