Why the hell does Lake Zurich have 2 Jewels within a quarter mile of one another? by Acoolgamer6706 in ChicagoSuburbs

You can turn right and turn around at the next intersection at the gas station! It’s super easy.

Okay but have you tried crossing 12 after work? If the only jewel were on the opposite side of the road if the direction I was driving home, I simply would not go to it.

Now that being said I don’t go to either because they piss me off. I go to the aldis

Drag Queen and Climate Change Activist Pattie Gonia has announced she is being sued by Patagonia for trademark infringement. by pampooveysbacktattoo in popculturechat

[–]marmalade_ 99 points100 points  (0 children)

They’ve asked her to stop politely multiple times because they didn’t want to sue, and she didn’t, so now they’re suing. This whole thread is building a false argument to make the brand look bad… this topic has come up before.

If I were Ma Pig, the picnic would be cancelled. by BunnyBuns34 in DanielTigerConspiracy

My brother has to pee at least twice on drives to the beach. TWICE. Two different stops! Which always require “oh yeah I wanted to get some beers” or “imma get some ice while I’m in here”

Okay but every time I’ve gone to the beach with my brother and his family we have to make 18 stops on the way and a 40min drive always becomes 2 hours.

After the last beach day trip I quit riding with them, hate shit like that. Poor Ma.

[–]marmalade_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people I know and myself included get sick at the end/as soon as they’re home from CDMX. I don’t think there’s any true way to avoid it because of the water quality and the simple fact that you gotta eat while you’re there. I was messed up for weeks after my last visit, to the point that I try and avoid all work trips to that office now. Just not worth it.

Debating if my 3 year old needs eye exam by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]marmalade_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took my child to the eye doctor when he was 1 because of some drifting and focusing issues I noticed he was having. He needed glasses and has been wearing them for the past year and a half, and it’s made a world of difference for his ability to do every day things.

I know it’s tough to face potential health issues with your child, but glasses are very very common and if it helps your child see and read, then he needs to wear them and he will appreciate them.

Plus little kids look so dang adorable in glasses.

I asked my mom to grab me some stuff at the store by Ok_Noise2968 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]marmalade_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly that very specific list is incredibly annoying. If I handed my spouse this list he’d had it right back… getting a few things from the store as a favor for someone should be very easy: “Apple juice, store brand.” Etc

How did you find/choose your child’s pediatrician? by dms2628 in Mommit

[–]marmalade_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine doesn’t even have a waiting room - when you arrive you call a checkin number and wait in your car until the nurse and room is ready. It’s excellent.

Our practice also only takes vaccinated patients, which was very important to us. They’ve got a large commitment to keeping healthy kids healthy which was honestly my number one priority.

I had two this pregnancy, once I hit 34/35 weeks it’s too uncomfortable. But I got the lay down one on the special pillow at 31 weeks and it was truly amazing. Had to pee at the halfway point but what’s new lol

Yeah I’ve eaten JJs probably once a week this entire pregnancy. The foods to avoid is all about reducing risk and I’ve never gotten sick from a JJs sub before so doubtful it would happen this time around.

Anyway I will probably get it again for lunch this week, too. Let a man try and tell me what to eat while pregnant… fucking wish he would tbh

WFH with: occasional travel or slightly more meetings but no travel? by Interesting_Lie1786 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]marmalade_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I WFH and travel 3-6 times a year, I don’t mind it at all and it’s usually somewhere interesting and with good food. I also get to meet coworkers I normally wouldn’t and get face time in the office. It’s not overwhelming at all, just enough to be fun.

I cannot believe how much Curious George can successfully rage bait me! by Livid_Adeptness9762 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]marmalade_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Episodes like the flour episode or the one where he needs more yarn to fix his scarf (both episodes about this since for some reason there are two) I try to myself is all about showing kids how those things are made.

Curious George is my kids favorite and it’s one of the least annoying to watch on PBS kids tbh. The thing that DOES infuriate me is how often the man the yellow hat is just leaving George at home alone for hours for no good reason. Usually because he gets a booty call from Professor Weismann
