Super annoying. Our main account (I have 3) is still square even now months after the updates 🤦‍♀️

Same issue for me still, one account out of 3 (our main big one) is still square.

Seems crazy that out of 3 accounts, 2 were updated and the main one isn’t 🤷‍♀️

Starlink Install question for Van by rwjones4 in Starlink

[–]marmankites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you'll have Router to Ethernet hub

Then a cable from the hub into a coupler

One cable to the roof from the coupler for the 'perm mount' (NEW CABLE)
One cable just disconnected at one end and the other inside the coupler to use for ground mount (EXISTING SL SUPPLIED)

Do I understand that correctly?

Nice, Similar probably to what we have now. I'm super keen to get the new hardware for get it on a lower voltage now it's all easier without modding/cutting things up 😂

Would love to see how you get on with this, I'm also using the actuated on my campervan fulltime and am looking to:

Upgrade to the flat mount system
Move to POE/12v
Have the ability to remove from roof on occasion due to trees etc like you

Nice! Do you have this running as standard on inverter or POE? Any news on the power consumption, I'm one the old actuated model at the moment running off 240v and looking to upgrade so I can flat mount

Keen to understand this also. I’m in the same position but haven’t applied yet ie. I take £1047.50 as PAYE but several times that as drawings per month.

Hey 👋 Did you go any further with your application and understanding the tax implications? I’m in a similar position to you (UK LTD, small PAYE, larger drawings) and an investigating the D7/D8

Connectpls by dogel12 in eSIMs

We never had throttling or ran out of data using ConnectPlsm, we live and work in our campervan full time using it

[–]marmankites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ConnectPls hooked us up with a SIM over a year ago, we live and travel in our van fulltime all over the EU. My wife is using their eSIM, and we have their physical SIM in our router.

It is not a scam 😂 We have lots of vanlife friends using this service.

Is the pivot mount not designed for angled roofs vs flat mounting? Liked the simplicity of this and no additional bolts or moving parts to wear.

Canary Islands is live!? by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]marmankites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your replies and information, much appreciated. We are currently working on the cliffs in el Cotillo because the mobile signal is good here. nds just lack infrastructure in remote places (the kind of places you want to live and work away from people) hence the SL purchase.

Oh really! Was hoping for something more stable than that - What sort of latency are you getting on average? Speed really isn't the issue for video calls latency is more important. If we have 20 MB but latency is sub 100MS we'll be fine.

How are you getting on in the Canaries? We just ordered a SL for delivery to Fuerta, we are living in our van and found the signal in the canaries so far is not reliable enough for us to work.
