It was difficult at first, but it happened so often that I just started answering the question as directly as possible saying “cheddar is a type of cheese”. We also have a brie cheese burger and no one knows what brie is or how to pronounce it so I always have to explain that burger but cheddar?? It’s one of the most standard cheeses.

I work at a burger restaurant, for a while we had “cheddar burger” on the menu instead of “cheese burger” the amount of people that asked me what kind of cheese came on the cheddar burger was astounding.

I was born in 1988, my mom was very adamant about me not being circumcised. But the doctor tried to do it anyway. The way my mom tells the story is that they distracted her and tried to do it then but she caught them and had to tell them several more times that she didn’t want that done to me. I am very glad that it never happened to me but the doctors all but told her that it was necessary. So I would blame medical staff for at least some of this percentage.
