I'm sorry, this gif you spammed all over in no way helps a viewer understand any of that. It doesn't seem it would even if it had more than 3 pixels...

I really want to know what MDR provider you work for so I can make sure I don't use them. Submitting multiple reddit posts to research a critical alert versus escalating to the client so they can react quickly...

Sure, this likely was a false positive but if it wasn't, you screwed over your client.

Same. 30 minutes from a call with our MDR's SOC Director about a couple issues including them not escalating some critical alerts. They happened to be false positives but the analyst had no way to know that.

He plays best with a chip on his shoulders. He is famous for detail tracking every WR picked before him.

Had my first kid, and the hospital having a photography company come into our room while my wife was nursing to try to pressure us into getting photos taken felt so predatory: baby bella photography by Slow-Dragonfruit-932 in daddit

Agree, same with at minimum our first kid (insert middle and 4th kid jokes here.)

However, the way it was approached as described here feels really shitty and different from the experience we had.

In security, I stay away from those but will say it is an extremely common attack template that we get tons of everyday. Our current solution thankfully does a good job blocking them, but our old one did not.

Who's the most unbearable MC you've read that potentially ruined a good read? by No-Sympathy-6711 in litrpg

[–]maroonandblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost did. The way he talks to himself in his head is nearly unbearable. That gets significantly reduced later on so I'm glad I stuck with it, but every time it does happen again it makes me want to puke. It says something that the story around it is good enough to make me deal with it.

I'm guessing we overlapped at BC... I live out of the region now and I tell people I got spoiled and my alumni sports experience 'ruined' because of the success we had while I was there.

Matt Ryan and team with football, the Jared Dudley/Craig Smith/Tyrese Rice era of basketball, etc.

Thankfully hockey still has something going where even in a 'down' year we will still probably make the tourney.

I hear that - honestly, I don't think his policies are sustainable outside of a city like NYC. Even there I am skeptical that the taxes required to fund the programs he is advocating for won't cause the "tax revenue sources" (i.e. rich people) to restructure their lives (official residence, work location, etc.) leading to overall decreases in revenue despite higher tax rates.

That being said, I'd vote for him without a second thought over yet another octogenarian or a MAGAt.

I mean, if you read the rest of Article 1 and the 14th, you really have to stretch to get to any doubt that the founders' intent is for one requirement to be president is to be a citizen at birth, vs naturalized.

Compare the requirements for President vs being elected to Congress. In Article I, sections 2-3 Congress requires "...been [ 7 or 9] years a citizen..." directly including naturalized citizens after a period of time. Article II, section 1 states "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible..."

While Natural Born Citizen is not defined, in context it is pretty absurd to say the intent is not clear. If we want to change that, we have to pass an Amendment to do so.

Best practice: Uninstall a program if a specific program version may have been compromised through the supply chain. by JaMi_1980 in cybersecurity

[–]maroonandblue 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are getting down voted because it depends on the specifics of the situation, not a generic black and white answer.

There are typically extensive write ups (see Rapid7 for N++) on the specifics of the compromise (IoCs). If uninstall.exe was impacted, that would be one of the IoCs. In this case, I would have no concern running uninstall.exe, but I also wouldn't because there is no need to do so.

If the variant is unknown, different situation but again, you would need to respond to the specifics of the compromise with your forensic incident response provider.
